Shelby's Snack Shack Game Review

This was a lovely family game for those aged 4 plus.  Youngest had the concentration to follow the simple rules and got quite into it, he was saying I am picking this bone because it smells lovely to eat!  Then he would do some little woof woof noises… so it definitely captured his attention.

The design of everything is quite sweet with polka dot food bowls, a fabulous beach scene (found on the inside of the box) to pick the dog bones from and of course the handsome Shelby Squeezer to collect the bones.

Shelby’s Snack Shack is very well made, as I have come to expect with all the products Learning Resources stock, and of course educational too.  It has helped youngest with his counting and I could ask him some questions using the bones, like if the Seagull takes two away how many do you have left? Perfect to teach the concept of subtraction.  On the spinner cheeky Shelby pinches bones too as he is a hungry pup after all, so you can also help with addition too, if you get three more bones now what is your new total.

Priced at £23.94 its well worth adding to your games cupboard.  The Shelby Squeezer is helpful to develop motor skills and co-ordination as you attempt to deliver the bones safely to the food bowl.  Eldest had to have a go this evening and I could not believe it I ended up with one solitary sad bone all alone in my bowl, whilst he had managed to win the rest!  He went to bed feeling very pleased with himself.  I think tomorrow a re-match is definitely called for…
