All eyes will be on Aintree for the Grand National on the 5th April, but if you and your girlfriends were planning a day trip then it’s the 4th April that should peak your interest. Ladies Day at Aintree is the most infamous as well as one of the most popular Ladies Days in the UK.
There are numerous reasons to attend Ladies Day, none more so than the chance to make yourself look glamorous. Who doesn’t enjoy beautifying themselves?! You can get a new tan, a new dress, a pedicure and manicure as well as getting your hair done. It’s as much a makeover as it is a race meet.
What’s more, horse racing is the most unisex sport out there, meaning regardless of gender you’re bound to have a good time. With copious amounts of Pimms and Champagne you can sit back and relax and hopefully soak up the sun. That relaxation will soon end once the racing begins and you’re screaming at the top of your voice for the Paddy Power favourite that you’ve backed to win. There really aren’t many other excursions that are as fun as the races.
Ladies Day at Aintree also gives you the perfect opportunity to meet some celebrities. Ladies Day wouldn’t be Ladies Day if you didn’t see the queens of the WAGs Alex Curran (Steven Gerrard’s wife) and Coleen Rooney (spouse of Wayne). Model Abbey Clancy could also be in attendance looking as glamorous as ever. It’s often frequented by the Manchester United football team and many other celebrities living in the North West. Aintree’s Ladies Day gives you a unique opportunity like no other to rub shoulders with the rich and famous.
But for me I just want to see the hats most of all!

If you have never been to the races with your friends then you definitely should, they’re brilliant. If you have been to the races before, we are safe in presuming that you’ve already bought your tickets for this year!
