Christmas Gifts For Children & The Family

For babies a walker is an ideal way for them to gain some independence being able to navigate around the room on their own, getting some physical exercise and mental stimulation in the process.  It's surprising how fast babies can move when they want to see something.  I really like the Chicco band baby walker with playtray from Baby Thingz they are reduced at the moment to £39.99 from £44.99.  A wonderful gift for that will keep them entertained for ages especially with the playtray with its activities, sounds and lights, allowing you to get on with some tasks at the same time, just expect your little shadow to follow you from room to room.

For the little ones who are slightly older, I really like the toddlebike its very light weight so ideal for a toddler to confidently handle it, whether pushing it along or carrying it.  It's a great first pre balance bike as it is very affordable (only £23.95 including shipping) yet still durable enough for their needs.  It's a great size just right for them without making it difficult to store.  Suitable from around 18 months and offers a helpful alternative when your toddler has outgrown their baby ride on toys and needs more of a challenge.  It comes in three colours, Midnight Blue, Racing Red and Pinky Pink.  It looks very hard wearing, easy to clean off if they want to use it in the garden and the narrow wheels help your child learn to control the bike more easily.

Then skates.co.uk is the place to head to if your after a scooter, BMX, skateboard or roller skates, plenty of choice if your looking for inspiration for an older child.  Stunt Scooters are very popular at the moment we were sent the SLAMM Rage Classic III Scooter to put it through its paces.  It looked great; my eldest loved the colour and the extra features.  It is very sturdy; ideal for him as he is only just starting to get to grips with stunts so the scooter is bound to have a tough time of it until he perfects them!

Red Candy sent their Army Men Wall Stickers (£19.00) these look fantastic.  My youngest was so pleased when he saw his room transformed with them.  You get 16 all together and you have the flexibility to arrange them however you please.  They were easy enough to apply if you follow the clear instructions.

New sleepwear is always appreciated at Christmas, either in the Christmas Eve hamper (if you have started that tradition) or as a present on the day itself.  Mine are quite partial to onesies as it keeps them cosy and warm through the winter months.  Flamingo Gifts have a good selection available.  My youngest loved the Angry Bird one (£10.99) we were sent, the print is great, very bold and bright.  I also liked the Spiderman one, great value for good quality licensed products, so I am sure I will be back again for more.

Peacocks also have plenty of choice when it comes to nightwear, my boys were sent the Batman and Avengers onesies and they have both washed well and look great.  They have Star Wars and Minions too, so again I feel another onesie order coming on!

Aldi have some great gifts at very reasonable prices, its well worth browsing their Christmas section of the website.  We were sent a selection of fancy dress outfits to give us a feel for the type of products on offer.

These are ideal if your child has a nativity show coming up shortly or regardless make wonderful gifts as children love dressing up and getting into character all year round.  Decent costumes like this make imaginary play that much more fun and realistic.  Keep an eye on the special buys to see what toys are on offer in the run up to Christmas.

I really like the Bratz Snowkissed Dolls the accessories are simply fabulous and the different costumes are very stylish (one for one the slopes and one for off the slopes), they are only £15 each on Amazon at the moment.  Children will enjoy using the stickers to decorate the ski's, toboggan or snowboard that come with that particular doll.

If your a Bratz fan its worth making your way to one of the #Snowkissed photo booth events, check on the facebook page for more details and they also have a #‎Bratzmas‬ countdown too at the moment with the chance to win some lovely prizes.

Warner Bros have a good selection to appeal to those who like superheroes.  They are not too expensive to buy and children will love the designs from all their favourite shows.  The Batman rucksack is available from Asda for £7 and the Scooby Doo bag is available for £12.95 from Amazon, so great additional gifts to help bulk up their main presents.

A novel stocking filler is The Adventure Suit, an augmented reality story book for kids.  It is very tiny but lots of fun, the mini interactive book might look small but it makes up for it by bringing the story to life using your smartphone.  Available now at Amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0992798914 and priced at £4.99 and an ideal way to encourage reluctant readers to take more of an interest.  You can see a little video below of how it works.

Socks, yes you read that right, but socks have never been so exciting.  Now I have been introduced to Chatty Feet I think sock presents are actually quite good fun!  I know my hubbie would love the BadAss gift set, all of TV toughest characters in sock form!  From our experience Chatty Feet socks are very comfortable socks and wash extremely well.

My eldest loves his Feetasso ones; so much so he took off his shoes in school and showed them to everyone in his class!  They are socks with lots of character; it’s hard not to want to wiggle your feet and start talking in a silly voice.
