Baking with Wilko

When we were sent a selection of baking equipment from Wilko we decided it was the perfect time for us to make chocolate brownies with the boys left over Cadbury’s Cream Eggs.  We had seen so many appetising pictures of the indulgent treat it was time to attempt our own.

The boys like being involved in the kitchen, eldest greased our baking tray and youngest helped mixing in the ingredients.  There is something hugely satisfying seeing the end result (and of course eating it!), so if you do not have much in the way of baking equipment do pop along to Wilko, the range is comprehensive and affordable so a great place to pick up all the essentials.

The Mason Cash Bake My Day Measuring Jug (£10) and Mixing Bowl (£15) were gorgeous, I love the colour and both products were excellent quality, very stylish and sturdy additions to our kitchen.  I like that they have co-ordinating products like this.  The Oink Oink Mixing Spoon (£1) and Silicone Spatula (£1.50) were fun items for the children.   The pig design was cute and encouraged them to want to help stir.

You will need the following ingredients for this recipe:

The Wilko Mini Scales at £2.50 are an absolute bargain, easy to store away but with a surprisingly deceptively large capacity bowl (500g).

The bowl was dishwasher safe perfect for afterwards when you want to clean the kitchen as quickly and easily as possible!  It can also be microwaved which is also handy depending on what recipe you are attempting.

The brownies were delicious so we will definitely have to make these again.  Although now Easter is coming to an end sourcing the Cream Eggs is not quite so easy, so we will look at something else to add instead (Oreo's perhaps!).

  2. I love going to Wilkos for my baking things, they always have loads to choose from and are reasonably priced too. You're very brave cooking with cream eggs though, I don't think I'd try it.
