My Favourite Summer Dresses

I was at a fabulous event last week and even met James Martin but what I realised after seeing Honest Mummy in a gorgeous dress is how much my wardrobe needs an update!!!  If I am going to keep heading to events with more regularity I need to invest in some dresses that will give me a bit more confidence.  I really do need a few statement pieces, ones that highlight my best points and suit my body shape (yes time isn’t being so kind anymore!).

So here are my top summer dresses ideal for those that are going to a special event or function and want to shine, without breaking the bank.  At these prices you can afford to pick up a few so you have some variety depending on the type of occasion.

Yellow Floral Print Tea Dress £35

I love the colour and the pattern; it’s such a pretty dress.  Yellow can be a difficult colour to get right, but this dress seems to manage it quite well; the overall look is very feminine and romantic, a dress for daydreaming.

Geo Print High Neck Sleeveless Swing Dress £25

I really like the bold print, it captures your attention, left to my own devices I would be the blogger blending in to the background but this dress would make me be noticed and get cracking networking!  The high neck is also a flattering fit and the design is very modern and contemporary - a dress for the forward thinkers.

Black/Nude Button Sleeveless Shirt Dress £32

This is sophisticated but comfortable dress, ideal if you want to look good but feel good too.  It does look more vintage with the button down detail, but it means it has a timeless chic.

Together Wrap Front Print Dress £41 (on sale)

The wrap front helps define your waist; it’s an attractive fit and looks beautiful.

If you can think of any other dresses that work well, please leave a comment below, I would love more fashion inspiration and ideas.
