Tagged by Rhiannon over at A Hell of a Woman blog, it is my duty to post regarding the highs and lows of 2011 or be faced a truly heinous fate (okay am just trying to be dramatic!).
1. What was your happiest event?
Generally 2011 was pretty damn good:
Had a long holiday with the in-laws, which was delightful, as we do not see them enough. The youngest turned 2 whilst we were there and the extended family arranged a perfect party for him.
Went to a lovely wedding of my good friend and his wife (who now also blogs), just look at the sweetie table they had…
Finally filled my life long ambition to go to Cadburys World (although it wasn’t quite the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory epic adventure I hoped for!).
Took the boys to see Disney on Ice and the Ben 10 Monster truck show, which brought so much magic for them (and nearly bankrupted us in the process!)
Adopted two rescue cats which the boys adore
Finally got our first car!
2. What was the saddest thing to happen?
My dad when he was feeling poorly, but he is much better now (fingers crossed tightly!)
Our two little bunny rabbits going to heaven after reaching the ripe old age of 8
3. What was the most unlikely thing to happen that actually went ahead and did?
Started blogging, it was always in the back of my mind but hubbie just made me a page and I started writing… now I get to eat crackers!
4. Who let you down?
My hubbie for getting re-hooked on to World of Warcraft, however this now works to my advantage as extra blogging time, but my nightly cup of tea is not always scheduled to my liking… raid breaks are too few and far between!!!
5. Who supported you?
I have a lovely group of friends, who through many a play date have helped keep our children occupied, kept me up to date with gossip, given me far too much tea and cake, you know who you all are! I salute you for keeping me sane J
6. Tell us one thing you learned
That I really need to spend less money, I have to accept my boys cannot have everything and Santa should not have to endure a bad back to deliver it all! 2012 will see us being much more careful and getting our finances sorted at last.
7. Tell us one thing that made you laugh
My eldest when I asked him “would you like another baby in the house?”
“Mum ring my friends and we will babysit (my youngest) and you go and get the baby. But be quick I need to go to bed soon”
Not quite sure he quite understands where babies come from haha!
8. Tell us one thing that made you cry?
Anything sad or happy makes me cry, if something lovely happens I cry because it is beautiful to see kindness (hubbie often looks at me strangely when we are watching films or even adverts…)
9. Tell us three things your children did to make you feel proud
Youngest potty trained through the night really quickly to our surprise
Eldest coming on well with his swimming
Both of them growing in their love and kindness to each other
10. Tell us one thing that made you proud of yourself
My son’s teacher telling me at his first parents evening that he is a confident polite boy and knowing I must be doing something helpful in the process of raising him
11. Tell us one challenge you overcame
To eat quiche on a play date when I hate it, strangely though since I have faced it many times since it is starting to grow on me…
12. Tell us three things you would like to change about your life in 2011
Letting me hubbie pick which films we watch on love film
To have won more competitions
My inability to mastermind a plan to take over the world… cue evil laughter…
