Don’t Rock the Boat Review and Competition

I really liked this game from University Games it is
such a simple concept but very addictive, the boys and I played this again and
again outside in the glorious sunshine.

They didn’t really argue and they didn’t seem to get bored, they enjoyed
the challenge of the game and even when they went out quite quickly they were
keen to start the next round straight away.
You have quite a lot of flexibility when it comes to placing the
penguin, you can use the crow’s nest, hang off a cannon or hang off the sides
(using the penguin’s bandana) or lie on the deck! The different combinations seemed to keep their interest.

We kept going to see if we could master getting more
penguins to stay on the boat, we tried various strategies, working as a team
even to try and get all the penguins to stay onboard! The pesky pirate penguins had ideas of their own though and we
always had a few stray penguins that would not stay put!

All the excitement of the high seas with this Don’t Rock the Boat game! x

It was quite educational teaching the boys
about balance and also patterns, as they quickly replicated the process to try
and add more each time. Our game was
not very competitive as we were more interested in getting penguins on the boat
rather than winning individually.

In terms of set up, it’s a quick
game to get ready; you just add the masts to the boat, and then place it on the
“sea” before taking it in turns to add the penguins. The boat does seem to have a mind of its own, although we did
find it harder as the wind had picked up outside and seemed to rock the boat
even more!!! In terms of family fun
this is the game to be playing over the holidays.

Don’t Rock the Boat has an RRP of Β£14.99 but I have
one game to giveaway, if you would like to enter please fill out the form below
by the 18th of June.

  5. Looks a really entertaining game, a new concept both girls and boys will love. Having grandchildren, I have several games here for us all to play when I collect them from school but would love to add to them, and I certainly want one that makes us laugh because that's the rule for being at my house!

  6. I would like to win for my son Jack. He loves anything to do with boats and pirates and loves a good game.

  7. I would like to win for my cousin and it looks great fun. I had a similar game with penguins balancing on ice so I'm sure he would enjoy this one too.

  8. We play a similar game on the Wii, but I'm always telling the kids to play "proper" games. This looks so much fun!

  9. I would love to win because my boys are both teenagers and I look after my niece and nephew and don't have any age appropriate games for them to play with, they would love this.
