have been sent a Vango Wilderness Junior Penguin sleeping bag from Silverfox Travel and Outdoors
to review; eldest had been eagerly awaiting its delivery.
Our only camping trip so far was on a family
camping weekend, which really opened our eyes to all the creature comforts
that you really need when camping, soft, warm bedding certainly make it a more
cosy experience and packing an inflatable mattress is also highly
The biggest problem we encountered when we camped was
keeping the kids in their sleeping bags and getting them off to sleep, we only
had generic sleeping bags and it was plain to see that the boys craved a more
inventive sleeping arrangement. Well
you cannot beat a penguin design for that, eldest loves the idea that he
becomes a penguin when he is in his sleeping bag and is awaiting his next
adventure. We have had to make several
dens in the house for him to camp in whilst waiting for the real thing, which
goes to show the extra enthusiasm he now has for his sleeping bag!
from looking great the Vango sleeping bag is also highly practical it comes
with its own compression sack that helps when you’re packing your car boot to
its maximum capacity and every little bit of space counts!
The sleeping bag itself has been designed
for two-season use, spring and summer making this sleeping bag ideal from 8 to 20°C. It has a
two-way zip making it easier to open from the inside or outside of the bag,
which is good so children can manage it themselves without getting frustrated.
The inside of the sleeping bag has soft polyester lining
for extra comfort while the outer skin is a durable polyester microfiber. The
price of the Vango Wilderness Junior Penguin sleeping bag is £27.50, which is possibly
at the higher end of the junior market but for the overall quality and the
novelty factor is a price I would gladly pay to get a further one for my
youngest, seeing as he is already pinching it for himself!
