Recapping on the Summer Holidays

Just before the boys went back I asked them what they
thought of their summer holidays, I waited for a LONG list of grumbles but no they
both said they had a lovely time and it was 10/10 – I was so pleased because as
much as I try and fit in some lovely things for them to see and do, I find it
quite challenging being with them the whole seven weeks! My job is from home, so there is no escape
when it’s all gets too much! They just
get fed up of each other’s company (and mine!) and fight a lot, they disagree or complain
about the most trivial stuff and it grinds me down. Although because they felt positive about the holidays I feel
more upbeat now, I did my best and that was noticed.

My patience was well and truly worn thin, the craft
supplies I bought went largely untouched and there was another few things I
hoped we would squeeze into the holidays that we didn’t quite achieve. But in their eyes the summer holidays was
everything it should be – for that I am grateful. Some days might have been quite low-key and screen time was my
friend to get things done and keep the blog going – yet we still had plenty of
family time. Here are some of our
favourite bits:

First try at #paddleboarding 😀 and he loved it! x

The boys tried paddle boarding
for the first time, something they both seemed to really enjoy. I like them doing water sports as I think
its important to be confident in water, they can swim but its different trying
a session in the sea and having to learn about the dangers of currents. Sometimes I am on tender hooks seeing them
try something new, worried they are going too far out, but their adventurous nature
shouldn’t be controlled by my nervous parenting.

We visited two new attractions
that have been on our list for a while, we had a lovely nights stay in Gulliver’s
Hotel and the boys liked wondering around Gulliver’s World the following day,
as we tend to stick to the Merlin attractions usually it was refreshing doing
something different. We want to visit again soon as they have a NERF Zone that we all want to try!

Our first ever visit to @gulliversfun #gulliversfun #gulliversworld I am sure we will be back again soon 😀 x

The boys enjoyed the Ice Cream Farm. We were lucky as it was a beautiful day, the sun was shining and the boys had a tasty ice cream to cool off.

The boys went horse riding, this was in Anglesey and the boys went out for an hour on bridle paths admiring the landscape (well that and giving us an update afterwards of how many times the horses stopped to poo – charming I know!).

Today the boys went #horseriding x

We went strawberry picking! Nothing like picking your own fruit in the fresh air, the boys always enjoy this activity.

#fruitpicking is so much fun, freshly picked #strawberries with cream yum x

Yes actually looking back I can see perhaps why they didn’t grumble after all!
