I can’t quite believe 2017 is here! Our evening to celebrate the New Year was quite low-key a lovely meal at my mum’s followed by a few board games. The children were getting tired and grumpy so were in bed by 10pm. Yes not very rock and roll here sorry, I didn’t even have as much as one alcoholic drink!
I was tagged by Lorna Mums Wine HQ to reflect on our past year. I don’t always join in these tags but I love reading them back so I thought I would make the effort to take part this time.
What was your highlight of 2016?
just asked the boys and it was our visit Lanzarote for them with the all you
could eat ice cream and unlimited pop!
It is our first all-inclusive holiday so it was a real treat eating
whatever you wanted. I was quite
partial to the waffles coated in chocolate sauce for breakfast. I liked it most of all for having a week of
quality time together, filled with sunshine, fun and happy memories.
Name one thing you are likely to remember about 2016 if asked in five years time?
We visited LEGOLAND a lot! We were an ambassador for them in 2016 so
got invited to lots of lovely events and celebrations. The fireworks were incredible but the most
enjoyable was probably the Star Wars Event as there were so many amazing
characters there and the boys liked having lots of photos with everyone.
Sum up 2016 in one word.
Name one pearl of wisdom from 2016 that you will carry through 2017.
take your health for granted; if there is something you want to do, do it! Time waits for no one and who knows what the
future holds. Book those holidays and
cherish those you love, make each day count.
Do you have any New Year resolutions?
Focus my energies on
the people that matter, I am happiest with my small group of close friends and
family. Continue to have lots of
How are you seeing in the New Year?
don’t really see the attraction of heading to a bustling pub, so it was a meal
with my parents and brother for us.
Next year though I am tempted to host a little party for close friends
and their children and make the most of the size of our house to entertain, we
shall see! Today my mum is doing a
buffet lunch too, so we are being spoilt really!!!
What would you most like to do in 2017?
The eldest says go to Dubai, youngest says he would like to
earn LOTS of money, hubbie says get a new computer so we can blog more
effectively (our one is so old!) and I just want hubbie to agree that we can go
abroad again this year – anywhere!
Whether any of this will be achieved is another matter entirely…
