really loved Babe the film and I am very excited that about the news that there
is a theatre production out now. I like
taking my children to theatre shows they love it when they have a chance to get
involved; they really identify with the characters and Babe is already a firm

new stage adaptation captures everything you adore from the Dick
King-Smith’s much-loved children’s novel and the 1995 Oscar winning film. We
follow Babe’s delightful story to becoming the world famous sheep pig, in a heart-warming
tale of friendship, adventure and bravery – that is suitable for everyone in
the family.

The script is adapted by Olivier
Award winner David Wood (known for his adaptations of Goodnight Mister Tom,
James and the Giant Peach, The BFG). 
The Olivier Awards recognise stars of British theatre so the script has
been skilfully recreated in the hands of David Wood.

performance promises beautiful handcrafted puppets, original live music and a talented
West End cast of performers so you are definitely in for a treat. My two will be counting down the sleeps
until they can watch it for themselves later in the year.

  1. I am hoping to see this is in Edinburgh. I vividly remember reading the Sheep Pig in school! It was a lovely movie too! I have to admit from the photos above I'm already in love with babe!!! I hope my family can have such fond memories of the show and the book!

  2. This looks absolutely fantastic. Using puppets adds an extra edge to the show and I know my grandchildren would love to see it and it would earn Nanny more brownie points lol

  3. We saw a little preview of this at the switching on of our local Christmas lights, and the cast and the Babe puppet were brilliant! Looking forward to catching it when it's on.

  4. We love going to the theatre especially to see the stage adaptation of a great film! I love the special effects and the use of scenery and props.

  5. I loved this book when I was young, my kids love the film and I can imagine that it would be a fantastic theatre show – it certainly sounds great!
