Wish Upon A Unicorn is available on DVD 19 October from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment

This heart-warming story follows two sisters, Mia and Emma. They want to save a young unicorn with magical powers from peril. Mia originally finds the unicorn who she names Rocco after moving to the country to her grandmother’s ranch following the death of her mother and her dad losing his job.

Rocco the unicorn brings luck to those who believe in him. Which is something the girls really need after experiencing tragedy. Fortunately, it’s not long before Emma can see the unicorn too. A little belief goes a long way!

Mia and Emma decide to take the unicorn to school hoping it can help with bullies and support them settling into a new school. But by leaving the safety of the woods Rocco is in danger. A local man hatches an evil plan to kidnap Rocco hoping to ingest his blood and benefit from eternal youth! It’s down to the girls and their grandmother to help save their newfound unicorn friend and return him to his mum.

The film is pitched for children aged 8 plus. It is quite sweet natured and funny in places. I did laugh at the country traffic jam (cow and sheep!). If your children like magic and fantasy this is the perfect film for them this half term. Some much-needed light relief with everything going on at the moment. I love the little piglet in the film. Nice positive messages about the power of family in the film too, by having faith in your family you can overcome anything.

The film was written and directed by Steve Bencich who is also known for Brother Bear, Open Season and Chicken Little. All of which are classic family films your children may already love.
