Probably the highlight of the week was my youngest son making pizza from scratch. His homemade pizza dough and sauce was so good. I would love to it be a regular thing. I don’t think I can go back to shop bought pizza now! Even if it creates so many more dishes it was totally worth it! We then settled down to watch Assassins Creed on the TV projector to make it feel a bit more exciting.

I haven’t been feeling very well this week, which slowed down home-schooling somewhat.

Vaccine

My husband had the first part of the Oxford vaccine this week as he is a health worker.  He seemed to cope quite well in terms of side effects. He did feel a bit nauseous and run down for a few days but no fever. His arm seemed to ache for a long time, much longer than the usual flu jab. Thankfully, that seems better too now.

Hot Chocolate

This week the boys enjoyed their hot chocolate sets they got for Christmas. They loved the sprinkles, mini marshmallows and the little Santa that came with it. The chocolate was really good quality, which I am kind of relieved about as each set cost £5 from Maple Molly’s.

Brownie Skillet

Another Christmas present was made this week the Chocolate Brownie Skillet set they had off their grandparents. I think they picked them up for £4 from B&M. But they came with the little skillet, marshmallows, m&m’s and a chocolate brownie mix which seemed good value. It was a nice activity and a very tasty treat afterwards.

Painted Stones

We went for our usual walk to see if anything had changed with the painted rocks.  This time they had painted ladybugs with the number of dots written on the underside. I think its something nice for the little kids to do with it being another lockdown. Educational for them but a bit of fun too.

Hotel Tycoon

I think it was the novelty of moving an aeroplane around the board and staying in fancy hotels that made us play this game twice this week! We really must be starting to miss travel a lot. Although today’s game lasted over two hours. I was glad when it finally finished and my youngest triumphed as the winner!

Blogging

I have managed to get a lovely competition live to win an EggNogg colouring bundle. So, if you’re at a loose-end entertaining the kids do enter that! It’s a lovely prize which will give you some much needed peace and quiet hopefully. Otherwise, it’s been a pretty uneventful week. If anything, I am starting to get a little fed up. But I am sure many of you are feeling the same. I am pleased that vaccine roll-out seems to be speeding up. Maybe we can salvage some of the year for fun and adventures. Until then my son’s homemade pizza will be what keeps me smiling!
