Outright Games released DC League of Super-Pets: The Adventures of Krypto and Ace on the 15^th of July on the following formats; PlayStation®, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The story involves Superman’s trusty pet dog Krypto and Batman’s dog Ace. Both of the dogs have their own special moves as you would expect with such famous superhero owners. Krypto has Artic Bark Powers and Heat Vision Laser Eyes. Whilst Ace has shoulder charge attacks or batarangs in his bat belt!

It’s an action packed game as the dogs fight evil robots (Lexbots), rescue pets and soar through the skies of Metropolis. The dynamic duo have their work cut out to stop Lex Luthor’s dastardly plan to pet-nap strays from the city. The graphics are colourful and cartoony, which will add to the appeal of the game for pre-teen children. I think this family game will be very popular especially for fans of the Super-Pets film which was released on the 29^th of July.

The controls are simple to master which is ideal for the 7+ age range. I like the addition of the pet pals support abilities. You have PB the pig, Merton the tortoise and Chip the cat. Each of them give you a super boost whether it’s a shield or extra agility.

The game has a good message about adoption behind it. It’s a likeable concept that teaches children to be more caring and empathetic. Children will help the rescued strays find new homes which then rewards them with medals for future upgrades to their stamina, health and the duration of ally abilities.

The game has a strong re-playability factor as you explore the other power-ups in the game and do everything again with the other super dog hero. You can also attempt to beat your previous scores. Adults might find the game repetitive but its not the audience Outright Games are targeting. They have tailored the game perfectly for those aged under 10.
