We were sent two rather fabulous gardening starter kits for the Kids Grow Wild challenge. I am not quite sure why two got sent, but it certainly stopped any arguments. The boys could focus on the jobs at hand rather than fight over who got to wear the gardening gloves! Normally we are not very green fingered as a family, so this was the perfect push we needed to spend time gardening.

Otherwise I would have had my boys wearing one glove each… especially as oldest was so taken with them “I like wearing these gloves I feel like I’m doing real gardening work“.

All set and ready to prepare the soil for the seeds:

On the Polly Pansy seeds packet it said you could sow the seeds to spell out a name. How impressive would that look when they grow. I explained this to my two but they just scattered them randomly around the place… but they did take some time to admire them first:

Time to add lots of water for the new seeds to get settled in:

Finally adding name labels so we remember what exactly they planted (with my awful memory this is a sensible plan, although even I can recognise the Sunflowers when they grow lol!):

It was a glorious day to be out in the garden. The sun beaming down and the boys happily occupied in their tasks. They each have their own section of the garden now; so can see the merits of their hard work when the seeds start sprouting. At the moment it is very bare so we will all enjoy seeing some pretty flowers brighten the place up!
