Lego City Review & Competition

The boys have really got into LEGO again and its lovely seeing them being creative, then using their imagination coming up with different scenarios with everything they have built. It’s been keeping them entertained for ages.  Usually it’s a battle getting them off screens but LEGO City is winning again!

I was only too pleased to review two of the LEGO City Great Vehicles range, the Fishing Boat (60147, RRP £17.99) and Pizza Van (60150, RRP £14.99) so they could add them to their growing collection. At the moment they have made a hotel of their own devices and like having additional food and activities for the guests to make their stay more enjoyable. These two sets complemented their vision. They can now offer fishing trips alongside horse riding as part of a stay at their hotel and you have more choice regarding what you can eat there (not just ice cream or a baguette!).

The boys promptly built a set each and started to play, even though it was technically bedtime they couldn’t wait till the following morning to get cracking. Once you’re in the LEGO zone you just want to focus on your latest build project and see it through to completion.

Pizza Delivery

For the price you get lots of items, every little detail you could possibly need to make the most of the set. My friend’s partner owns a business making and selling pizzas so they have pretended he is the little LEGO man from City Pizza. Although they did enact him having a nap in the pizza wagon at one point!!!

You can use the scooter to deliver pizzas to all your hungry LEGO characters and the parasol table is a nice extra for customers when they want to stop and eat.

The sides of the van open when its stationary and you are in the hatch dishing out pizzas then you can close the sides when you’re driving to your next pizza-serving destination.

Fishing Boat

The Fishing Boat comes with a rod, fish and a pesky shark – watch out for him! You have a ring to throw into the water if anyone gets into difficulty. It really is a fun set with lots to interact with.  The boys especially liked the swiveling chair.

These are just two of the Great Vehicles, whereby you can do great things; you also have the Race Plane (60144), Buggy (60145), Stunt Truck (60146), ATV Race Team (60148), Dragster Transporter (60151) and Sweeper & Excavator (60152).

Other new releases centre around the LEGO City police, so if you’re a fan of high-speed chases, arresting crooks and solving crimes these are the sets for you. I have the Bulldozer Break-in (60140, RRP £64.99) to giveaway as seen below, you need to come quick as the bad guys are breaking into the bank using a bulldozer!!!
