I was only too eager to be tagged by Zeta’s Suitcase in her Mummy’s Guilty Pleasures post because let’s be honest being a mum isn’t easy.  We need our little pleasures to keep us going through the tough times, the long days and endless sibling squabbles.  I swear sometimes I think I am going slowly crazy.  But I hang in there, what other choice do I have.  I wouldn’t change it for the world really but the rewards I give myself do help keep me sane!

Last week I had the chat which was quite a cringe worthy conversation but one that needed to be discussed.  After that I seriously needed some chocolate to steady my nerves.  With my eldest only 10 I didn’t think we would be talking about the birds and the bees already.

Who is your guilty pleasure musical artist?

Snow Patrol, in the beginning my now husband and I had a long-distance relationship and hubbie picked out a song for us.  Something we could listen to when we were apart.

What is your guilty pleasure song?

Snow Patrol Chasing Cars quite old now put I get goosebumps whenever I hear it. It’s the song that reminds me of first getting together with my now husband.

Who is your guilty pleasure TV star?

Probably Hook from Once Upon A Time, although I wouldn’t have thought a guy wearing eyeliner were my thing – you live and learn!

What is your guilty pleasure TV show?

Once Upon A Time, my husband doesn’t watch it so its just my show.  I sometimes get to watch an episode in the day in between writing blog posts, my indulgent treat so I can admire Hook’s pirate skills and daydream about being a fairy tale character.

Who is your guilty pleasure film actor/actress?

Owen Wilson, I love his voice and his floppy surfer hair

What is your guilty pleasure film?

Pretty Woman I never tire of watching this and I am not one for watching films more than once usually.

What is your guilty pleasure meal?

Mashed potatoes with everything, I love comfort food.  So mash with pie, mash with sausages, mash and chicken casserole you get the theme as long as it involves mash.

What is your mummy’s guilty pleasure snack?

CAKE, I am officially the cake monster.  But if your following me on instagram this you will already know.

When you know you shouldn’t but the cake sings its siren song and it seems easier just to eat the damn cake, resistance is futile, healthy eating in 2018 is not working out for me so far x

What is your guilty pleasures drink?

I don’t drink many alcoholic drinks, but I am quite partial to the occasional amaretto and coke.  I love to add those little cocktail cherries for good measure.  Also, you can’t beat including a colourful cocktail umbrella so you feel like you’re on holiday with one of them – so I keep a stock of them at home for days I need to escape!!!

What is your mummy’s guilty pleasures book or magazine?

I must admit I do like reading celebrity mags sometimes.  To see what they are up too, the drama and the life of excess.  It’s a whole other world.
