Win a set of three Record Breakers Books

We were sent three Record Breakers Books by Carlton Books.  These are ideal presents for Christmas.  Parents really can’t beat giving the gift of knowledge at Christmas.  Many of us are attempting to follow the four gift guide this Christmas.  Parents aim to give children something they want, something they need, something to wear and something to read!  Well these books are ideal if you want to give your child something to read because a child might not want story books some prefer fact books.  It’s good to find out what your child’s preference is because the main thing is to ensure they keep their motivation to read.

We had Space (£9.99), Mega Machine (£9.99) and Football (£9.99).  My boys are very enthusiastic about these types of topics.  Furthermore the books are presented well, lots of pictures and facts that captures your child’s interest.

Football Record Breakers

Record Breakers

This is jam packed with statistics from teams and players from all around the world.  Flicking through the pages is a real education in the world’s most popular team sport.  Mainly my kids couldn’t wait to share their newfound knowledge with their friends.  As you can imagine football is a popular subject in the school playground.  However my kids feel they know more about it now.

Mega Machine Record Breakers

This was a firm favourite of my boys.  A lot has happened in the last 250 years since we relied on actual horse power to travel.  Namely machines have completely changed our lives.  This book has so many incredible facts.  We were all suitably impressed with the folding motorbike.  Together with the speed of the Japanese MLX01 maglev train (361mph) and the height of the Bigfoot 5 monster truck this book kept enlightening us!  Such a fascinating read being introduced to these powerful and rather inspiring vehicles.

Space Record Breakers

Record Breakers

Personally I think this was my favourite of the three.  I really enjoyed having a read myself.  Especially as I can’t believe an American multi-billionaire Dennis Tito paid 20 million dollars to the Russian Space Agency to be the first ever space tourist back in 2001!!!  However NASA wasn’t too keen on the idea because he was untrained so more of a safety risk.
