This really was one of my favourite films when it first came out back in 1998.  How time has flown, I would have only been twenty back then!  I am so excited Sliding Doors is having a bit of a revival as it’s not a film you would want to miss.  The collector’s edition to celebrate the 21^st anniversary of the film is available to buy from today the 13^th of May.  It has brand-new content and exclusive bonus material that you won’t have seen before.

This romantic comedy is very cleverly done and inventive.  I like seeing how the two scenarios play out!  It does go to show how our lives are full of possibilities.  One little difference in your day can lead to a completely different sequence of events.  It does blow your mind thinking about it!

I am a romantic at heart, so this film was perfect for me.  I have watched it many times over.  It’s a great concept.  Helen played by Gwyneth Paltrow loses her job and heads home early.  The film plays out with two stories, one where she catches the train back and another where she misses it.  It can be a bit confusing keeping up with both stories.  But the film has made it much easier as Gwyneth Paltrow’s appearance varies depending on which path she took.

By arriving home early having caught the train she realizes her partner Gerry has been cheating.  Missing the train, she arrives home later so doesn’t clock on to his cheating ways so swiftly.  I like the originality of the film and it has some great themes of love, friendship and deception to get stuck into.  I won’t reveal anymore about the plot as I am sure you want to see for yourself how it plays out.
