5 Reasons you Should Lease A Car
There are quite a few benefits to leasing a car and I plan to discuss five of them in this article.
Avoid the Cost of Repairs
We bought a new car about five years ago and we are still paying for it! Whereas if we were leasing we could have moved onto a new car by now. The reason we bought instead of leased was because we thought we would have something tangible at the end of it. But lately our car has started needing to visit the garage for repairs more. It no longer seems such a worthwhile asset. Instead it is costing us a lot of money to own it. We spent £600 last month, and our bank account really felt that!
Enjoy a Better Car

I was looking at Bridle Vehicle Leasing and spotted a few cars that appealed. As I bought my car I feel like I am stuck with it for a while. But if I had leased I would have had a two or three year contract so I could have moved onto a better car already. Newer cars generally have superior features and the latest technology! So, when you lease a car you have access to all that! I do love my car, but it is starting to look a little tired!
More Peace of Mind
When you drive with your family you want the safest car you can possibly afford. Leasing a car means you can benefit from the latest safety features. We have missed out on Autonomous emergency braking and that sounds like something very beneficial to have. Safety experts consider it a huge safety breakthrough. Euro NCAP explains Autonomous emergency braking in more detail in their article. I feel a bit sad I don’t have access to it as it helps prevent accidents. But we can’t give up on our car, yet we are still paying back the optional final payment we had when we decided to keep our car!
Manufacturer’s warranty
As you will have a brand-new car you can enjoy having a manufacturer’s warranty. You can move on to your next leased car when it ends so you don’t have sleepless nights about car costs. You will also have a repair plan with your car. I miss that the most, it’s not fun having unexpected costs popping up some months! For three years our car was reliable but recently that is changing. I dread it when our car is due to go to the garage.
Hang onto your Money
I love the advice of Billionaire oil tycoon J Paul Getty he said “If it appreciates, buy it. If it depreciates, lease it.” So, for us buying our last car brand new was probably a mistake. I think a billionaire is more clued up than me, given my bank account currently has £3.10 in it! So, from now on I will be following that sage advice.
One of the main reasons we kept our car was because we had paid extra at build to have rear airbags for additional safety! What I hadn’t factored in was cars updating with better safety systems in the meantime. I could lease the safest car for our family instead.
