AD Gifted I was sent the Scruffs Thermal Pet Mattress (£44.99) in black and grey for my dog to review.  The mattress looks great.  Very stylish!

My dog was initially a bit suspicious as she is with anything new!  But she was soon convinced that her new bed was a cosy place to lie down.  Our laminate flooring is very cold, I don’t want her feeling a chill.  Fortunately, this thermal pet mattress has been cleverly designed so it reflects body heat back to your pet.  The fact its self-heating makes a big difference now winter is setting in.  Our big old stone house can be quite draughty.

Superior Dog Bed

The mattress is made up of a layer of foam backed with reflective foil.  Dogs will enjoy the extra warmth it provides.  I am also glad that the cover is machine washable at 30 degrees so you can freshen it up!  You should always aim to buy a dog bed that can be cleaned as they can soon get a bit whiffy otherwise.

The Scruffs Thermal Pet Mattress is a good size.  My dog is a collie cross and she had plenty of space to relax and stretch out.  She is the kind of dog who likes her home comforts, not that I blame her I feel the same. Although depending on the personality of your dog you might want to consider a dog bed that’s chew proof. Some dogs especially certain breeds like Chihuahuas are prone to nervousness so can be quite destructive as chewing helps relieve their anxiety. A chew proof bed just means it is a bit more robust. Although I did find the quality of the Scruffs Thermal Pet Mattress to be suitable for my collie.

This mattress is ideal if you have an older dog.  Especially as the high-density mattress foam gives their joints lots of support.  When you supposedly age the equivalent of seven human years in a year you want to have your luxuries!  Additionally the Thermal Pet Mattress really helps dogs with arthritis, if they have aches and pains, they need a comfortable bed like this.
