Week 36 0f 2020: Getting Active
We had a quieter week after the pace of our Hampshire holiday in our last update. We did eat all the wrong things last week, so this week we have prioritized getting active.
Each day I try and get my 10,000 steps in and do 15 minutes on the rowing machine. Hopefully I will have the stamina to build that up to 30 minutes eventually! Although its hard always staying focused especially when my mum makes amazing scones. Fresh out of the oven I had no willpower to resist!

Rock Adoption Day

The kind people who have been making rock monsters for children to find wrapped it all up this week before back to school. So, they organised an adoption day where you could choose one or two of your most favourite rocks. I thought that was particularly thoughtful of the organisers. We picked out a few of our favourites. But it wasn’t easy settling on our allocation, all the rocks looked amazing! The organisers said they might plan a few special events with painted rocks later in the year so no doubt I will update you here if they up with more exciting rock ideas! Personally, I am hoping for a Christmas themed one. It’s a shame its over for now though as it made it easier getting active with the boys. Youngest would go on a walk just to see what he could find!
I thought this troll rock was quite sweet with its hair and ears!

But we settled on a Harry Potter rock.

Getting Active
We have been trying to be more active as a family. I saw some weighing scales I quite liked the look of so snapped them up! My husband from Hubby Helps and I are tracking our visceral fat, metabolic rate, and BMI. Simone from Sim’s Life has bought the same scales (just in a different colour!) so we can motivate each other. So far, I am not doing too bad. However, I would like to see my metabolic rate reduce further. I am forty-one and its currently thirty-five. But the app says the optimum is 2/3 of your age so I have quite a way to go yet!

Sunday Lunch
Today we went out for Sunday lunch. It was a lovely meal. We were joined by my brother and parents. It was the first proper outing for my parents since lockdown. So, it was quite a big deal for them. Most of our meals were covered with vouchers off a friend so it was a wonderful treat that only cost hubby and I a tip. I had an amazing syrup sponge with custard for dessert, but didn’t feel guilty eating it as I had walked over 16000 steps today!
Cooked Breakfast

This week we went out for a cooked breakfast with my eldest as my youngest started school this week! It was nice to have one on one time with my eldest. However, I really missed my youngest. It’s so strange not having them at home all the time after so long with lock-down and the summer holidays. I think it will take a bit of getting used too.
Arcade

We visited an arcade, which was better than I thought. I had visions of it being jam packed with people. But we had plenty of space and it was a welcome change. Although the boys did get a little addicted collecting those tickets to exchange for “prizes”! They left having spent a small fortune but happy with their few handfuls of sweets.
Making Plans For Our Bathroom
We have been into the DIY store and picked out shower board, flooring, and a cabinet. I can’t wait till the plumber has availability and can get cracking. We have so many jobs that need doing in our house, it always feels like a big achievement when another room gets completed!
I hope you have all had a good week and if you have children starting back at school they have a fantastic time and settle in quickly.

Syrup sponge and custard…. I am totally drooling right now! What a fabulous food week for you and I’m the same, there is no way I could have resisted any of those scones your mum made, they look awesome!
Those scales are awesome but seriously scary at the same time! I needed a new pair so thank you for the recommendation, they are certainly keeping me motivated now I’m back full Keto! No scones for me now! 🙁
Arcades are great fun, love visiting when we are away and I leave the ticket collecting to Liv… fortunately she chooses pencils as prizes!
Good choice on the stone adoption too… Harry Potter rocks! (No pun intended!) 😉
Sim x
We only discovered those arcades with the tickets a year ago – great fun, but it definitely makes you spend more! We definitely need to get more active, well I do. Looks like it’s going well for you
Yep, do not deny freshly made goodness by your loved ones. The food looks delicious!! The rocks are so cute I want to hug them. Great work on the Harry Potter rocks. Very cool and sweet of the organisers. The arcade looks cool.
Oh wow, those scones look amazing. The breakfast out is a lovely idea too. It’s so strange to be back to school now, for me and the kids – I’m sure we’ll get used to it again. Love the rocks. It’s sad that they’re stopping but I agree, a Christmas comeback would be a great idea.
What a brilliant idea to have an adoption day for the rock monsters. I love the troll and Harry Potter rocks. Good luck with getting more active. I really need to up my exercise and try and get a bit fitter. That cooked breakfast looks delicious as do the scones – I wouldn’t have been able to resist them either! #project366
Going back to school feels really strange this year. Love the rock monster with hair. VEry impressed about all the exercise – I’ve dropped off a bit the last week or two, but about to go back to swimming.
I could really do with spending some time trying to get a bit fitter. I like the sound of the scales and that you and Sims Life can egg each other on. Although those scones do look delicious. Good choice on the Harry Potter stone.
I hope the kids have settled well back into school, the house must feel empty without them, make the most of it though. The meal out sounds fab, especially as it only cost you a tip, great deal
I am thinking about getting a fitness tracker as I can’t have my phone on me at work so can’t count my steps! I’m also missing my Joe Wicks work outs not we’re back at school 🙁 Good luck with your health pledge! #project366
