Week 12 of 2021: Walks With Friends
This week was lovely as I managed to get out and have a walk on two separate occasions with a friend. It was definitely the lift I needed! As my life has been pretty repetitive of late. It was so nice just to be able to chat and be myself without any pressures for a few hours. My boys had one day each back at school this week too, which they both enjoyed. So, it was a good week for all of us. I think I will be having many more walks with friends when the boys return to school properly.
I am pleased that we can also have another family visit in our garden. It was excellent timing for Easter as with a break from online tasks we need to find other ways to have a bit of fun! With the weather picking up garden catch ups would be ideal.
Baking For School
Food still featured a lot. My youngest made a delicious banoffee pie for his food technology class.

Whilst my eldest had to make a cake shaped like an eye for one of his science online classes. It’s nice when we can eat their work afterwards!

I am so relieved though that they will be back to full time school after Easter. It’s been hard motivating them to continue with online work. They found out that some of the children hadn’t done any work over the last three months. I think that’s crazy as that’s a big chunk of learning missed.
Yes Day
Fortunately, mine managed to do most of it, my youngest still has some things he needs to finish. But as we watched the “Yes Day” film last night, I am going to use the promise of allowing them one of those days if they work really hard for the next month! That should encourage my youngest to complete the last few bits of outstanding work.
They are keen to start planning their Yes Day, I just hope they fill it with variety not just I want to game for 24 hours straight! I am sure food will feature though, so it will probably be an expensive day one way or another. Just wish me luck I don’t end up with a house full of foam!
Blogging
I managed to get two more competitions live, so do check those out if you like the sound of winning a Craze Sensations slime set or two aromatherapy products from Scentered. The Scentered products are an ideal boost for your mental health as the blends are designed to help you deal with common problems you might face, like poor quality of sleep or lack of concentration.
Painted Rocks
I was sad to see that someone had ripped off the Little Red riding hood characters I mentioned in my week 11 update. It’s such a shame when the people work so hard making lovely items for people to find whilst others just seem set on destroying what they make. I was happy to find a lovely painted rock with stacking sheep on one of my walks with friends.

But I hope that the people who break these things don’t put the kind people off continuing to produce them. A little kindness costs nothing. I liked finding this one below but its got me wondering now whether it originally had two more bees.

Lovely to get out for a walk with a friend and looks like a beautiful spot for it. I love the cake shaped like an eye and the banoffee pie looks absolutely delicious. I’ve toyed with the idea of a yes day but not braved one yet – good luck and hope yours goes well. What a shame that the Red Riding Hood characters got ripped off. It’s horrible when people destroy other people’s work like this, especially when it’s something that’s been put there to help make people smile. #project365
Such a shame with the rocks. Love that sheep one. N is obsessed with Yes Day film. Thankfully he’s not asked for one – I think it would involve baking, bike rides, tennis, and probably a Mcdonalds or Dominos pizza.
I can’t believe some haven’t done school work for 3 months. They should have made those go into school. That’s what ours did with children who struggled to work at home, or weren’t getting through their work as they usually would. Let’s hope when they’re back, those who have worked aren’t held back for the others to catch up, and there’s a different option for those ones.
It sounds like a walk out with your friend was just what you needed to give you a lift.
Well done your youngest. That banoffee pie looks amazing and the eye cake is interesting.
Good luck with the Yes Day. I have done it before with my girls and they loved it. x
That Banoffee pie looks amazing – my son brought me a rice krispie cake home he made for me for mothers day at pre school – then he sat down and ate it haha
We have a painted rock group where we live and we love finding them – our garden is full of our rock treasures. You are so good at painting them – sorry they got ripped off.
Those are lovely little rocks, we never seem to find any – must walk around with our eyes shut I think #365
So nice to get out with friends I am planning on seeing some friends tomorrow night in the garden and can not wait. The Banoffee pie looks amazing! Sad to hear about the painted stones people can be so idiotic sometimes.
It is nice to be able to plan ahead and meet people. Small steps but so vital for mental health! Such a shame that people can’t treat things with respect 🙁 #project365
Sounds like you had lovely walks, meeting friends and sampled fine baking. That banoffee cake looks OMG! Not sure I’d want to eat an eye design. 🙂
What a shame some vandals destroyed the painted rocks you have admired. Some people are just senseless thugs.
My younger son watched Yes day with his father. For me it’s akin to torture, watching this kind of comedy. 🙂
That banoffee pie looks amazing. I wish Isaac’s creations looked as good from school. Love the stone painting
Wow, that banoffee pie looks amazing. Creating an eye out of cake is an interesting concept. I’m glad you got some time with your friends. Love what you find on your walks some people are so selfish #365
I do despair at why people feel the need to destroy things for others. Shame some of your children’s friends haven’t been doing the home schooling, I hope they are the minority and your kids aren’t having to repeat stuff while others catch up
