A Fresh Start – This Will Be A Happy New Year
Happy New Year everyone, I am looking forward to a fresh start for 2022. The last year hasn’t been the easiest, poor Sim has had to counsel me through a big chunk of it! I am forever grateful for her friendship and that of a few of my local buddies too (you all know who you are!) and my parents of course.
And to the individual who seemed to thrive on drama and gossip and sticking their nose where it is most certainly not wanted, I hope you learn to focus on YOUR OWN LIFE and continue to keep well out of ours from now on. Some people don’t know the meaning of healthy boundaries and are ill equipped to give out life advice. Now I have let off some steam let me carry on with my week.
Another Broken Appliance
I mentioned last week how our oven broke, well this week it’s the turn of the vacuum cleaner. It’s not the ideal start to the New Year, but I am excited to try out our new Shark vacuum when it arrives. My husband attempted to revive our Dyson. But it looked like it had reached the end of its cleaning journey! I guess we did work it hard, with my long hair, a moulting dog and all those times trying to vacuum up after workmen messes! The Shark vacuum says it has an anti hair wrap feature so the brush roll doesn’t end up covered in long strands of hair, let’s hope it lives up to the hype.
I am also keeping my fingers crossed that my next weekly update doesn’t feature a third broken appliance…
Another Lovely Meal

My brother cooked us a delicious dinner to welcome in the New Year. We didn’t stay all night, its nice to come home so my husband and I could have a few glasses of fizz together! Plus, the boys couldn’t be detached from their consoles for too long!!! At midnight we saw some lovely fireworks out of the window.
A Little Bit of Activity
I managed to drag the boys out on a walk this week. They were very reluctant as now they have hit teenage years leaving the vicinity of a console seems very difficult!!! Fortunately, the dog is always happy to head outdoors.

Today we took the eldest out bowling with his friend and then they had a game of adventure golf. After being cooped up with COVID for awhile I think its good for him to get out and about again. Although I didn’t take any photos. I need to get better at remembering.
Otherwise, its been a pretty quiet week only one other blog post with tips for healthy hair and no competition wins to report. I am hoping I have a few winning letters on their way soon. Being an optimist they are just delayed in the post with all the bank holidays etc! However I was pleased my pizza voucher arrived. We quickly swapped that for two pizza’s which will do nicely for dinner one night.
Cheese and Crackers
I think one of the main highlights of the week was having cheese and crackers at my parents. It was a lovely spread as you can see from the feature picture and I enjoyed tucking in (probably a little too much!). Now my asthma is back under control I plan to get back to the gym again. I always feel better after exercising. Plus I put on so much weight over Christmas the weighing scales actually had the cheek to say “is this the same person?”. I did chuckle at that!

That looks like a fantastic cheese and biscuit spread and a definite highlight!
You’ve got this chick, never give up the fight! This year will be better in so many different ways and is yours for the taking! Lots of exciting plans to look forward to, so keep smiling! 🙂
Definitely going to have a ‘less screen time’ year – for me and Liv, it all becomes quite consuming! :/ Here’s to 2022 love, it’s going to be an awesome year! Sim x
Ugh! It sounds like you had a rotten 2021. Here’s to a new year and a new start, hopefully a more positive one. Have fun with your new Shark!
It is so hard to get teenagers out even just for a walk. I keep dragging my girls out and they hate the idea of it but once they’re out they don’t complain too much.
My girls have got into eating cheese and crackers over Christmas. I suppose it has to be better for them than crisps and chocolate. lol
Oh no, not anothet broken appliance! Fingers crossed, no more. Hope the Shark proves to be as great as it sounds.
The cheeseboard with crackers is my ideal meal at any time. Sorry to hear that someone has upset you with their interfering ways.
Happy new year to you and yours!
Hope the oven is sorted now. We have a shark cleaner, it’s amazing picking up my hair as well as the cats and dogs. Dinner with your brother looks fab. We’ve eat our body weight in cheese and crackers.
Annoying when appliances seem to follow one another by breaking, we had that last year. Sorry to hear it was a hard year for you, I hope 2022 is kinder to you. Cheese and crackers were a highlight here for my son #365
Wishing you every happiness and fixed appliances for the year ahead! #project365
Happy New Year. I hope 2022 brings you lots of happiness. Sorry you have had a rough year but it sounds like you have a lot of friends to help you through. And about the appliances keeping everything crossed for next week. Can not beat cheese and crakers at Christmas.
Happy new year. Sorry to hear that 2021 was such a difficult year for you and hope that this year will be a much better one. Fingers crossed that you’re done on the broken appliance front and hope that the Shark lives up to expectations. That cheese and crackers spread looks amazing. The scales asking if you were a different person made me chuckle. Very cheeky! #project365
