My husband and I used a voucher we had for our birthdays off friends and had a lovely takeout Sunday dinner from the local bistro. It was a gorgeous meal and a lovely treat to end a tough week. My apple and mixed berry bread and butter pudding was delightful!

With everything going on in the world now it’s a scary time of uncertainty its hard to keep staying upbeat. That with the added strain of everything getting more expensive compounds the worry. Regardless of this and much to Sim’s amusement I chose this time to add another mouth to feed to the family!

But for us it feels like some much needed nice news to be in the process of adopting a Romanian rescue dog. I can’t wait for our little girl Bella to arrive. It should be anytime in the next two weeks. You can see her in my feature photo. She always looks so happy in the video’s we have seen. Her tail wagging nineteen to the dozen. I am not sure what Summer will initially make of her but I am sure with time they will be firm friends. I will keep you posted.

Buyagift To The Rescue!

I mentioned our half term in my last weekly update. I hadn’t covered our original axe throwing getting cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice which was frustrating as we had already booked into Hotel Rudyard the night before ready!

We had a bit of bother getting the axe throwing venue to return our voucher. Fortunately, Buyagift came to the rescue as the venue were just determined we would return at a different time. However, we managed to have a Piglet’s Pantry afternoon tea for the four of us instead.

With the rising cost of fuel, I didn’t want another three hour journey each way. Especially as we managed to cover axe throwing in Hover Force in the end. It cost us a little more, but it was an amazing experience there. They had us getting competitive, no-one wanted me on their team in case I brought their score down, then I went on and won! This pleased me no end!!!

I was glad to see a supermarket was collecting supplies for the people of Ukraine. My mum and I got a few bits to help.

This week’s blog posts seem more holiday focused, you can read about why you should take a road trip and the must see attractions in the South of England. Although not sure I will be able to get away as much as I used to now we have a new dog on the way and everything costing more.
