As their parent, you have a huge influence over your child. They will look up to you as their role model and emulate the behaviours that you display. While you may be finished with education, there is still so much that you can learn whether professionally or just for fun. Showing that you’re committed to learning and bettering yourself can help to set a good example for your child. Which will motivate them to also do so.

Offer Help with Homework

If you’re a pro at English and Math’s that’s great. You can help your child with their homework. But if you’re not, you can be just as much help as they study at home. They can explain concepts to you from the very basics. This can help them to memorize what they’ve learned at school. Plus work on their communication skills at the same time.

Create a Plan

Having a load of tasks to do can be demoralising. It’s also easy to forget about things and overestimate how much you’re able to do. Then end up in a pickle when you don’t have enough time to get everything done. You can help your child to get organised and make their homework seem less challenging by putting a plan of action together. A study schedule can easily be devised. This is something that you will need their help with to make sure that it is realistic and balanced.
