How to Encourage Your Child to Exercise
Exercise is a good way of building a child’s core strength, health and development of skills in different areas. It’s a good place to help your child find things that will raise their heart rate while also giving them a newly developed passion. It is also important for managing a healthy lifestyle for your child to grow up in. Here are some ways you can help your child learn to love exercise.
Use different sports as your child’s form of exercise

Exercise can come naturally through play or it can come from something like going to a football session. Or perhaps your child’s has developed an interest in sports their enjoyment of P.E. lessons. It’s a good place to start building their understanding of different skills that can be taught through sports and also what is considered exercise.
Children may not head to the gym to do their exercise at such a young age. This is why sports and physical education lessons are often a child’s first gateway to structured exercise.
Make exercise a rewarding experience
It could be a case of having a reward for your child ready for when they finish exercising. Alternatively you could get them something new that they wanted as a compromise. To get some children into the spirit of things you might have to get creative with the ways you can convince your child to enjoy exercising on a regular basis.
Rewards for your child should be different to the usual chocolate bar. You want to stick to nurturing healthy habits to raise well rounded children. Buy them a new set of sports kit they can wear when they exercise. Or perhaps treat them to a new pair of shoes or bike helmet. These can then motivate your child to move forward with their new found skills.
Get involved in the exercise with them

Having someone they recognise enjoy exercising with them can break down the barriers in a way. Your child will often turn to you for support, which is why getting involved will also help them come to enjoy fitness on a regular basis. If they have that reassurance from their parents they will naturally feel more confident to take on new things and experience different sports.
Talk about the benefits of exercise
Exercise aids weight loss, muscle strength, improved mental health and much more. It’s a great pastime to get involved in and your child can reap the benefits from a much younger age if they choose to. Showing them those benefits will motivate them further in their enjoyment of any form of fitness.
