Visiting Lake Garda: Lazise
I really enjoyed walking around Lazise. It is very photogenic, full of charming character. I wanted to see the city walls and just tick off another place around Lake Garda.

It is always good to get out and explore when on holiday, I would go crazy just sat by a pool for the duration of the trip. Although I did have to compromise as you will find out my final day of our trip when I stay in Garda for the sake of the boys (so sadly Torri del Benaco remained unexplored by myself!).
We headed to Lazise on the bus this time. We had found the ferry to be quite expensive to Sirmione and had heard buses were much cheaper. Our return bus journey to Lazise from Garda cost 16 euros for the four of us. The ferry would have cost 40 euros, so it was a decent saving. More money towards food and wine!
Buy Your Bus Tickets in Advance
Make sure you buy your bus tickets before getting on the bus if you can. When you buy on the bus itself you pay a surcharge (it was like 0.80 euros each, but it still adds up and better in your own pocket). We found this out because we decided to stop off at Bardolino on the way back. Then we needed another bus ticket for the last leg back to Garda.
The boys enjoyed ice creams, a good motivation to get them to walk around Lazise. I really liked all the side streets.

There was also plenty of shops to browse. The only thing I bought were some lovely lemon soaps because they smelt so fragrant!
Al Marciapie
We stayed a few hours and ate lunch at Al Marciapie. My husband had decided he didn’t want to read TripAdvisor anymore and just take a chance. Reading TripAdvisor now I think we are lucky we had good service and nice enough food as some very unhappy people on there! I might insist we go back to reading TripAdvisor from now on, especially when we go to Vegas as everything there costs a fortune!
Bardolino Crazy Golf

We stopped off at Bardolino for the crazy golf on the way back. It wasn’t very busy which was great as some of the holes were a little tricky and we needed quite a few goes. We found the owner to be welcoming (even though TripAdvisor gave the place mixed reviews) and we spent a pleasant time here.
There were lots of seats and shaded areas which were appreciated too! It cost 7.50 euros each, but we definitely felt we had value for money. The course was challenging enough, its nothing fancy but had slopes and ramps to keep it interesting.
