I have yet to book a coach holiday. If I am honest, I am not sure why I haven’t really. Especially as the tours are a great way to tick off lots of destinations during one trip. The world is vast with so many places to explore I do think I need to look at options that make it easier to see more of it.

I am turning 45 in December so I need to hurry up if I want to discover as many places as possible. I have been abroad 22 times in total. But somehow it doesn’t ever seem enough, my feet are always itching for more travel and my suitcase waiting to be packed!

Explore More Of A Country

We usually fly to one place and stay at that resort for the week. It can be a little restrictive, if you’re hoping to soak up as many experiences as possible. You don’t cover much ground. Even less when the teenagers want to stay close to reliable Wi-Fi. But if they had to move as part of the tour it would keep our holiday at more of an interesting pace.

By booking a coach holiday we can tour lots of areas. I was looking at Spain holidays with Shearings and they offer 9 different tour options. Then you can see Barcelona, Malgrat de Mar, Besalu and Girona or with a longer coach tour you can also see the likes of Zaragoza, Madrid, Segovia (in the feature picture), Toledo, Seville, Cadiz, Cordoba, Granada and Burgos. So, it’s a much richer cultural experience, with so much more to discover, like the monument to alfonso xii in Madrid.

You just move on to a different hotel each night. It seems a much more exciting way to embrace travel.

Planned Itinerary

Everything is planned out ahead for you. You even have the choice to join optional excursions. So, it’s easier in terms of planning and organisation, they have spent the time and energy coming up with everything. Personally, I can spend days working out my holiday itineraries so it would be nice to have that taken care of by the coach holiday company instead.

A Way To Make Friends

Your coach travel companions can feel like friends when you have spent days touring. This is great for solo travellers especially. You feel safer surrounded by your group rather than heading off to these destinations on your own.

You Don’t Have To Drive

I can drive, but I don’t want too, especially on roads I don’t know well. My husband has happily driven through central London, but he is not a fan of driving abroad. If you lack confidence or just want to really relax and let someone else take care of the driving coach holidays seem such a great option. You can even indulge in the occasional sangria then! Plus you don’t have to brush up on local driving laws and regulations either.

A Tour Guide

It’s less worrying being on holiday if you have your own tour guide. They can speak the language and answer any questions you may have. It’s a support system that would work well especially for more mature travellers who want extra reassurance when travelling. It feels safer being under the watchful eye of a guide too.

Writing this article has really captured my interest in coach holidays. I am going to spend my evening browsing their website, getting a feel for the tour destinations and working on persuading my husband. So far, I haven’t convinced him to have a cruise holiday because he can’t really swim, but I could be on to something with a coach holiday!
