Week 31: Co-op Membership and Blogging
Is it just me or are the weeks passing far too quickly! That’s another week of the summer holidays ticked off already. It’s gone in a blur of household chores, blogging and community work. Fortunately, I have had a few treats to reward everyone working so hard.
The boys have been putting in the hours in their jobs too, so we all needed a pick me up. Including my poor husband who is now full of cold! Not COVID this time, we did check just in case. But only because he works in healthcare.
Cookies

I bought some lovely homemade cookies from a local baker. The same one that made my son’s incredible 16th birthday cake. Her baked goods are always a joy! I also bought her tasty old school cake, with icing and sprinkles.
Lunch Out
I managed to eat out twice this week. Once with my friends and once with my husband. Both meals were delicious, the hot pork bap with apple sauce is pictured below.

Don’t worry the rest of the week I have been much more frugal. It’s been all about meal plans and seeing what offers are in the supermarket. Oh, and there was the lemon cake and tea after lunch with my friends, I did forget that… oops.

Community Work
I spent four hours in the local Co-op promoting the Member Hours activity. There I was encouraging people to sign up for Co-op membership so they could have the benefits of lots of savings on their shopping and of course giving back to the local community too. Are you a Co-op member already? It’s worth taking out Co-op membership it only costs £1, is quick and easy to do, you get to take advantage of all the member prices in store and extra offers through the app.
I had a nice free to enter raffle to coax people over (prize seen in my feature picture). It is surprising though how some people won’t even enter a free raffle. I think they are worried there was some kind of catch. Luckily, I had lots of friendly people engage with me too. I am sure I converted a few of them to becoming members.
Blogging
I have a new article live about home security tips. Always worth a read to keep your property safe. On top I have been getting my husband’s blog sorted with him full of cold I have written a few posts for him such as the benefits of solar lights.
Birthday
My mum had her birthday this week, so we went over and enjoyed a chippy tea and some cake. Although the queue to get the fish and chips wasn’t quite so enjoyable, it was just shy of an hour! I guess it meant they were very good chips (they were). Also, I was quite lucky because I had a nice chat with someone in the queue which passed the time quicker.
So, I think that’s me done for the week.

Ooh those cookies and the pork bap look delicious. That’s quite a queue in the chippy for your mum’s birthday meal! Sounds like the chips were worth it though. Hope your mum had a lovely day. #project365
Oh no! I hope your husband feels better soon.
I signed up for a Co-op card a few weeks ago and I love it already, it really is worth paying the £1. Every time I shop there I seem to get money off. x
Happy belated birthday to your mum. Wow an hours queue for chips, they better have been the best you’ve ever had. The bap looks lovely and well done with the raffle and converting a few. I’ll get signed up when I get home
An hour queue for chips, blimey! I really need to explore the Co-Op card benefits. #project365
