I love playing games on my phone for some light relief to break up your day. Especially when I am waiting for an appointment or travelling somewhere. I was excited to be introduced to Skedadle as it has the added benefit of helping you earn extra money too. With the cost of living crisis everyone is looking at different ways to make more money and what better way than to start using Skedadle.

How To Get Started?

Downloading the app was easy. Just head to Apple App Store or Google Play and search Skedadle, make sure you spell it like that. Otherwise, you will end up with a city transportation app! The app is completely free to download and play.

You can also add a referral code.

Each referral earns the account holder 50p (once the person registering have also earnt themselves £1). Therefore, it’s well worth getting all your friends skedadling! The more the merrier. All those 50p’s will quickly add up.

You sign up with your email and make a password, then confirm your email with a code in the Skedadle app. Then you can get cracking playing games. It really was a quick and seamless process. You don’t only earn from referrals either, just by playing each of the games you bring extra money in too.

You need to share your location which is understandable as brands will be targeting certain areas of the UK.

The Games

There are currently 8 different games you can enjoy. But they always plan to add new ones to keep things fresh and exciting.

The current games are:

4096

With this game you join the same numbered tiles together until you get to the 4096 tiles. It can help you brush up on your mathematical ability! Although I did give up at the 900 as I preferred the other games. But that bit of skedadling still earnt me 7p. Not bad for just testing something out.

Brix

You have to get rid of bricks with a little ball that you have to catch on your paddle each time. I used to play a very similar game when I was younger and loved it! Now I can have a trip down memory lane and also be paid for it!

flappydadle

Just like a version of Flappy Bird! You have to tap to avoid bumping into the tubes.

I have some work to do on that my current survival time is 4 seconds. I am quite embarrassed by that! However, those few attempts that earnt me that miserable score made me even more determined to get better at the game but also actually earned me 25p.

Invaderz

This is a take on the classic Space Invaders game. Another firm favourite from my childhood.

Finga Ninja

You have to avoid the weapons hurting your ninja by tapping to punch or kick! You want lots of “block” and “smash” words and less “ouch”. It’s hard to get a proper screenshot mid action. But you can see how the ad is displayed and it really doesn’t get in the way of the weapons that begin flinging themselves to your ninja!

This is another game I need lots of practise to improve at. But that won’t be a hardship when I get more skilled and wealthier at the same time.

Scramble

You tap the floating letters to make words. So, it’s a great game to improve your brain health. I think this is my most favourite of the eight games. It says things like “nice” or “excellent” depending on how many letters you manage to use. But I usually get “must try harder” when the game ends! But it’s the push to score higher I need! Plus, its more pennies in my wallet.

Snake

You move your domino snake around the screen to collect pizza toppings! A novel take on the classic. Who doesn’t love pizza! Don’t forget to grab some domino dips too!

Stackit

This is another enjoyable game. You have to get the tiles to stack on top of one another. You need quick reflexes and I love the challenge. When your game is over it tell you your accuracy so its something you can keep playing to try and improve that score.

The Ads

In the background of each game, you just have different Ads. For example, Hello Fresh was on one of my games then it changed to Tesco Mobile. It didn’t slow down my game or impact play once the game loaded. You can interact with the ad if you like. For example, you can claim a discount, subscribe to a mailing list or visit a site for more information. But it’s not intrusive at all. I really liked the way it worked. Plus, it might give me ideas of products or services I might want to try! It was so refreshing not having to battle off pop up ads mid gameplay! They really have designed the app very cleverly.

If you think about all the ads you have on television at least this way I am doing something I find enjoyable AND being paid for the ads I am exposed too. It seems like such a fair system. The company benefits from ad revenue and shares it with us gamers. I really feel like they value our time and contribution. However, I am now craving Domino’s pizza after seeing their ad!

Your Earnings

It is very easy to track your earnings on Skedadle, you just go to wallet in the app. I really liked seeing how quickly the earnings can build up. It might only be a few pence here and there, but it soon becomes a respectable figure. You can withdraw your earnings each month once you reach £5. The image above gives you an indication of what you can achieve over the course of a year!
