We woke up at Park MGM bright and early which was a surprise given how action packed the day before had been. You can have a reminder of day three of our Las Vegas holiday here. I thought we would have had a nice leisurely morning after doing all those things. But we must have still been dealing with the time difference and so we were ready to tackle even more attractions on the strip that day.

Convenience of a strip hotel

I loved that we were in a very convenient spot at Park MGM for stepping straight out into the action of the Strip. We didn’t need to walk a long way or jump into an Uber like we  had at the Virgin Hotel. Although from choice I still prefer the Virgin Hotel, location isn’t everything!

Denny’s Breakfast

We crossed over to Denny’s for an early breakfast. I do love a Denny’s breakfast, but later in the week I did try a few other places and did prefer them (Blueberry Hill Family Restaurant, Jardin and Mon Ami Gabi). But the waitresses were cheerful and the food warm and filling.

We spent $86 in total for the four of us (including tip), so its good value I think.

I had the double berry pancakes; the boys had the Salted Caramel & Banana Cream pancakes and Cinnamon Roll pancakes, and Sean went for the All American Slam Breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon strips, sausage links, hash browns and white toast). He isn’t a huge fan of pancakes!

Our pancake stack also came with eggs, bacon and hash browns, so plenty of food for the price.

Madame Tussauds

After breakfast we had tickets booked for Madame Tussauds for 10am. We were the first onsite. I had timed it early, so it wouldn’t be busy. But to be honest there was only us and one other couple in during that time slot. I had expected it as one of the attractions on the strip for it to be busier, but it was in the week and not the weekend so that probably helped.

We were in and out in under an hour, I think. We even had the tickets that included pretty much everything they had to offer (Marvel 4D movie and Carnival Carnage). So don’t expect to be here any length of time. Was it worth it? Well, I wouldn’t do it again. There aren’t a huge amount to see. Although we did laugh a lot in the short time we were there. The feature picture is also from here. Forget getting Elvis to marry you, Nicolas Cage is where its at (I love his films, plus he is having a huge revival on Netflix, definitely the man of the moment!). Shame I had to make do with the wax figure version!

Don’t go straight into the Marvel 4D movie without having any pictures you want with Hulk first, once you leave the movie you can’t get back to those bits as you exit through the shop.

We spent another $26 for three drinks in the Hangover Bar. Two slush and a coke. My husband is a fan of the Hangover films.

I have since read that London Madame Tussauds is much better.  I have done the ones in Blackpool and Amsterdam before and thought the Amsterdam one was better. We had a good enough time though and really enjoyed doing the Carnival Carnage 7D shooting game! Even if I did scream a few times when the clowns popped up on the screen.

The Flamingo Habitat

We stopped off to see the Flamingo Habitat, it was nice to leave the strip for a bit and its free to wander round. There wasn’t much going on, perhaps it wasn’t as warm as the flamingos usually like or just too early in the day for them.

Monster Mini Golf Twilight Zone

We spent $51 for the four of us to play crazy golf. The course looks quite appealing with the glow in the dark features and some interesting props. It was nice to do something different, although when you keep adding up all the attractions you squeeze in one day its scary to think how expensive it gets. Nothing keeps you entertained for long here and everything comes at a price!

Coke Flights

We went to the Coke shop to try the Coke Flights, we bought the combination offer ($25 plus tax), so had the Float Tray and the 16 International flavours. It seemed good value. Although we didn’t drink very much, a sip of each flavour was enough for me. We enjoyed completing the trivia challenge questions too. Much laughter over the flavours that we didn’t like, and faces were pulled! Across the table from us I saw another group who had managed to polish off most of their samples! I am not sure how their poor bellies felt with all those different flavours sloshing around in them!!!

The Float Tray

These included classic beverages with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in each. The ones that were included were:

Coca-Cola Float, Sprite Float, Barqs Red Crème Float, Pibb Xtra Float, Coca-Cola Cherry Float, Barq’s Rootbeer Float, Fanta Grape Float and Fanta Orange Float.

Tastes Of The World

This was split into two trays, details below.

Tray One – Stoney Tangawizi from Tanzania (we weren’t a fan), Tab from United States, Sprite Cucumber from Romania, Frestea Green Tea from Indonesia, Mazoe Blackberry from Zimbabwe, Sparletta Sparberry from Zimbabwe, Del Valle Jamaica Y Nada from Mexico and Thums Up India.

Tray Two – Beverly from Italy, Bonaqua Fruits Apple Pear from Germany, Fuse Raspberry Iced Tea from Georgia, Lift Apple from Chile, Smart Sour Plum from China, Fanta Kolita from Costa Rica, Inca Kola from Peru, Fanta Melon Frosty from Thailand.

Stranger Things Shop

Something which is free to wander around but great for fans of the show is the Stranger Things shop. I really liked it here, some good photo opportunities and lots of interesting products to browse. Worth popping in to get some photos whilst it’s still there.

FlyOver Experience

This was quite pricey for the three of us ($111.00) as it doesn’t last long. Sean didn’t fancy it as he isn’t keen on rides. But it was amazing and even though the ride itself was short it really was a most incredible experience. I am so glad we did it, definitely add it to your list of attractions on the strip that you must do. You could feel the breeze, smell different scents and soak up the most phenomenal views of Iceland. I really wanted to visit Iceland afterwards. I wish I had booked the combination offer now to get the second flight cheaper. But to be honest we had already spent a lot in this day! I needed to make cuts somewhere.

Outback Steakhouse

We had a late lunch at the Outback Steakhouse, already a firm favourite restaurant from our trips to Orlando. We had 2 burgers, 2 steaks and 2 desserts between us, and a drink each (and one beer for my husband) that came to around $160 without tip (another 20% on top with that). It was another enjoyable meal, so much so we would return later in the week! Photo is of my meal. I also really love their strawberry lemonade.

M&M’s Shop

I bought some Smores M&M’s from their shop and then didn’t see them in any of the other shops in Las Vegas afterwards, so maybe I should have stocked up on a few more packets! You could get the cold brew M&M’s they stocked in most of the normal shops. But its a good shop if your looking for M&M merchandise they had loads of that, I just hoped to have found more unusual flavours, I think the Hersey shop on the strip is better for that.

Then we headed back to our Virgin Hotel, knowing we had an early start the next day for our Grand Canyon trip! I was glad I managed to tick off so many of my attractions on the strip to do list!
