We had another long day planned today. But we were very much looking forward to the America’s Got Talent Superstars Live Show. We booked this quite close to our holiday, more as an afterthought. But it ended up being an incredible experience. Easily in the top three things we did over our 10 night stay in Las Vegas.

Atomic Museum

First off, we headed to the Atomic Museum as soon as it opened. We walked here from our Virgin Hotel. It didn’t take very long. We felt safe enough. Entrance to the Atomic Museum cost $29 for adults and $15 for each of my boys. I was pleased to actually be offered a youth price for a change. Most of the activities and attractions we have booked children ages stop at 12 and then you have to pay full whack straight away. It can quickly get quite expensive that way.

We spent a few hours at the Atomic Museum. It was very educational and informative. We learnt about the nuclear arms race and the later outrage of radioactive fallout. There are 3,500 artifacts to discover here, with many rare items previously unseen by the public. It is interesting to see how the Atomic Age still continues to appear in our life today through fashion, music and movies.

We then ordered an Uber back to the strip. Where we returned to the outback from lunch. I am a big fan of their strawberry lemonade. This time we also ordered one of the Blooming Onions. I had seen people eating one on our last visit and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. They really are quite tasty.

More Casinos Visited

My husband visited a few more casinos.  We thought we better pop into Tropicana given they are planning on knocking it down late 2024. It was built in 1957 so it’s not even very old by UK standards. The plan is for it to become a baseball stadium and be the new home of Oakland Athletics. Las Vegas seem to be investing heavily into anything sport related at the moment and shipping in the best teams they can!

Our Stay At The Luxor

Then we headed to Luxor to check into our room for the night. We had another great deal from playing the My Vegas app. All our points added up so we had a complimentary night stay here, alongside the one at Park MGM and our Excalibur buffet discount. You just had to redeem for a Sunday to Thursday stay, which was fine by us as we still had our Virgin hotel anyway.

We just had to pay the resort fee and tax associated with it. This came to just shy of $40. Plus, it saved us having to get an Uber back to our Virgin hotel later in the evening. Furthermore, Luxor was somewhere we husband was very keen to stay in, so I am glad we could tick that off for him. I had actually stayed in the hotel when I was 18 with my parents, so almost 27 years ago! So, it was interesting to return and see if it had changed.

America’s Got Talent Superstars Live Show

We got a discount on our booking again through the My Vegas app. It is so worth playing their free games to save some money when you are in Las Vegas. Especially as the cost of everything soon adds up otherwise!

We were sat in row E (seats 8 through to 11), I wouldn’t have wanted to sit any closer as you don’t get as good a view. Which seems kind of crazy as you would think the closer to the front the better. If anything, maybe even a couple of rows back from us would be better. But I was pleased with these seats.

I really loved how everyone was bubbling with excitement throughout the show. They gave you a light up stick to wave around, they even dropped confetti when the show ended! I am so glad we booked this show. It really was one of the highlights of our Las Vegas holiday. Both my teenagers enjoyed it too.

The quality of the acts was phenomenal, they were all America’s Got Talent finalists. One was even the winner of the Spanish Got Talent Show from a different version of the show filmed in Europe. It feels like you are getting a premium experience for your ticket cost, especially when you already have them discounted thanks to My Vegas app.

The Acts

Human Fountains- which is a bit silly, but enjoyable enough to watch.

The Silhouettes – this was a very moving performance and so clever using shadows.

Duo Transcend – a couple who do a trapeze show. You have to admire their strength and agility.

Celia Muñoz – a ventriloquist and opera singer. She was talented although its not really my type of thing. I preferred the dance and drumming acts.

The Pack Drumline – loved their energy! They brought the stage to life.

Light Balance – these light up the stage, again loved the energy!

Mervant Vera – a rapping magician. Everyone got involved with this as we all had cards to share between us in the audience. Then one of the audience joined him on stage.

Slice Of Vegas

After the show we were hungry, so we headed to Slice of Vegas. This is a great spot for Vegan food, which was ideal for my lactose intolerant eldest son. We found them to have a very friendly service and would wholeheartedly recommend you head here for a meal.

My eldest shared a vegan pizza and fries with his dad. We had a side of the vegan garlic knots for everyone to share too.

Myself and my youngest had Philly steaks with fries and we spent $118 including tip which wasn’t too bad. There really was plenty of food as they give such big portions.
