IAMS Pet Pledge Completed: We Did It!
Well we did it we completed our IAMS pet pledge! We even get a shiny new certificate for our efforts. You can see it above in all its glory.
Summer has enjoyed her daily walks, having a good sniff around and leaving a little wee EVERYWHERE. Seriously this one loves to do her fair share of scent marking! I think all the dogs in the area will realise she has been completing the pledge. She was probably just keen on sharing the good news with them!
According to IAMS it only takes 21 days to turn something into a habit so by seeing through the pledge its very likely that all that good work will continue going forward. That’s great news for pets everywhere. You have done incredible already this month, but whatever you pledged why not keep it up.
I have enjoyed being outdoors more, working from home can be quite lonely at times. It was enjoyable seeing people I know whilst I walked Summer. I shook off the feeling of cabin fever and felt much healthier for stretching my legs. It’s been such a positive experience for us both.
Summer has had a whale of a time. She has splashed in streams, dug in the sand and let off steam chasing after seagulls. Don’t worry she never catches them it’s just a game for her! The whole time her tail is wagging, and she looks so grateful to be living life to the full.
From my earlier post you will remember Summer is not a fan of other dogs. But with more regular walks she seems to tolerate them better, even if it’s only from a distance. Summer didn’t growl or bark as long as they didn’t pass her too closely. This for me is amazing progress and I am very excited about that.
In the past she would go crazy even if the other dog was a tiny dot in the far-off distance. Now she seemed a bit more chilled which I am very thankful for. I also made sure I brought my IAMS dog treats with me as it kept Summer focused on me when I needed her to concentrate.
Hopefully by continuing with the daily walks maybe one day she will even make a friend. Another dog that she can sniff and welcome without any hostility. It’s my dream and hopefully the IAMS pet pledge has brought us a step closer.
