This year I turn 40 its one of those big milestone birthdays so hopefully it means I get my present up-scaled accordingly!  Usually we buy on a budget, just a little token to mark the occasion.  We might only spend £5 just so the kids can present us with something.  But I want a bit more fanfare for such a special birthday!  I have started looking at different watches.

Exploring the OD’s Designer Clothing website as I noticed they had a watches and jewellery section.  Watches make such practical gifts.  It’s much easier having the time on your wrist than digging around in your handbag trying to find a mobile phone OR usually in my case remembering where I last left it!  Yes, as I have got older I have become increasingly vague.  I can spend ages trying to track down my mobile.  A watch on the other hand is always comfortably close by.  For me it would save so much time.

Why A Watch Is A Great Gift?

Time is precious, giving a gift to help manage is very thoughtful.  A watch is a constant reminder of how much you care, it’s a gift that keeps on giving.  Every time the recipient looks at their new watch they are reminded of your considerate gift.  Unlike chocolates which are eaten up and quickly forgotten, flowers that sadly fade and die and novelty gifts that just stick around getting dusty or end up stashed away in a drawer.

Watch designs can be quite classic and timeless.  It’s worth spending out a bit as its an accessory that you will in most likelihood wear for years.

A watch can be quite a romantic gift too.  Silver is a traditional anniversary gift at 25 years.  You can buy a watch, and have it engraved with a poignant message or your own initials.

I really like this HUGO BOSS Ladies Symphony Watch (£150) which is very pretty and feminine.  It even has four genuine diamonds for extra sparkle!  A little extra bling is always appreciated.

Ladies Trafalgar Watch

The Ladies Trafalgar Watch (£199) by Vivienne Westwood has a bit of character with the Orb logo charm.  It is an attractive watch.  I really like the white colour as its very fresh and appealing.

I would be happy with either of these watches for my 40^th birthday!  Just so you know husband dearest a £5 gift might not be the answer this year.  Unless you want to be in the dog house!
