I am really tempted to book an all-inclusive resorts Mexico holiday.  Puerto Vallarta looks amazing, beautiful sunsets, an idyllic location and crystal clear water.  I think we will be spending most of our time in the water.  The weather is set to be quite warm so it will help us cool off.  Here are a few of my swimming travel essentials.

I wanted to write this post because there is nothing worse than arriving at your destination and having to buy something you forgot at home so please use it as a prompt to save yourself some money.  Plus, we are quite loyal to certain brands and when we arrive at our holiday destination there is no guarantee they stock them!  I hate spending a lot of money on poorly made googles.  That’s my biggest bugbear.

Goggles

My boys both have Zoggs goggles in the Sea Demon design.  It makes them look like they have reptile eyes, which is pretty cool.  We keep buying the Zoggs brand as they fit well and are comfortable.  Cheaper brands seem to let in a lot of water.  Plus, they might not offer the UV protection that comes as standard with Zoggs.  I have a feeling my eldest will want new goggles soon.  He keeps telling me he is outgrowing things since starting secondary school.  I am sure the Predator ones from Simply Swim would capture his attention!

Pool Toys

I always like to take some pool toys away with us.  They keep my boys out of mischief in the pool.  Although some pools come equipped with a selection of toys.  The pool in our hotel in Florida had an amazing selection so it might be worth checking before you travel.  Then you know whether you need to keep some space free in your suitcase for pool toys or not.

Diving Animals £18

These toys encourage your child to dive underwater so not only does it keep them active in the pool it helps them become stronger swimmers.

Sea Squad Squirty Toys £11

Squirty toys are a good way to encourage children to get used to water on their face.  When my eldest started learning to swim he couldn’t stand the sensation of water on his face.  But with lots of fun toys he slowly gained confidence and soon enjoyed getting completed soaked!

Zoggs Splash Balls £12

Great for playing games of catch in the pool!  But lightweight enough if your child misjudges and manages to throw it at someone else in the pool in error!  Least no-one gets hurt!

Towels

Not all hotels provide pool towels so check before travelling.  If you do need to take your own stock up on fast drying swim towels.  Microfibre towels are a good choice, my cotton ones hold so much water they take FOREVER to dry!
