The temperature is dropping, and the nights are drawing in, so I was delighted to be sent a TJ Hughes voucher to pick out some home accessories to get ready for winter.  I love to snuggle in this time of year.  It’s all about making the house warm and inviting.  Pretty much like the Danes with their hygge style.  Rather than dread the fact “Winter is coming!” embrace it by making life as cosy as possible.  Jon Snow should have just got himself a decent throw and lit a few candles.

Candles

I really like lighting candles, watching them flickering away is very comforting.  The fluffy towel fragrance I picked out had a lovely clean fresh smell.  I tend to prefer those types of fragrances I think it’s because it feels like you have caught up with the laundry even if you haven’t!!!  The two pack of candles I picked was only 99p, I am not surprised they have sold out at that price.  TJ Hughes have some fantastic bargains.  You don’t need to panic about the cost of ordering some extra home accessories.

The Pastel Metal Cut-Out Lantern is very pretty and only £3.99!  Just remember to put the handle down when you light your candle otherwise it gets very hot.  Yes, I learnt from experience, trust me not to think about that!

An alternative to candles is the LED Light Jars.  The wiring with the big battery box can be a bit unsightly!  We sellotaped it under the table and then it was like it was never there!  So, if your mindful of how you hide the wiring, they do look fantastic!  A pack of two costs £6.49 so again not an expensive purchase to make your home more inviting.

Or if you are feeling festive the LED plastic reindeer is surprisingly bright for only £2.99 (reduced from £5.99).  It’s great you can get so many lovely things without spending a fortune at TJ Hughes.

Throws

We have lots of throws in our living room but everyone wants to fight over the cosy throw I got from TJ Hughes.  My family can get like that over anything new but its not the novelty of this throw it’s the fact its so warm.  It’s fleecy on the underside, its gorgeous to snuggle in on the sofa with!  So, for now I am going to hang on to it as tight as possible.  It cost £16.99 which is very reasonable for the quality.  I think we will be buying more of them!

Artwork

My favourite purchase was the oriental blossom birds wall art to finish off our en-suite bathroom.  The white wall looked quite cold and stark, but this beautiful piece of artwork with the cherry blossom makes you think of spring and the warmer months ahead.  The price has risen a few pounds since we bought it so I would say if you see something you like on TJ Hughes snap it up quick, just in case it goes out of stock or the price changes.
