Jungle Speed Review and Giveaway

My eldest and I enjoyed testing out Jungle Speed today, thanks for sending it Asmodee!  It was a great game for a Sunday as it is simple to get the hang of.  I didn’t need to plough through a complicated manual and challenge my poor brain.  We just had a deck of cards each and the totem within grapping distance.

It was a game for our reflexes.  My eldest won, he is so much faster than me.  I guess there was never going to be any real contest as my reflexes are more sloth like.  But I still managed to grab the totem a couple of times which made me happy.  It made me feel like I had a fighting chance, even though I really didn’t!

Some of the cards are very similar and it is tempting to quickly grab the totem.  But try and double check before you do otherwise you get a penalty!  I am looking forward to playing this game with more players, I think it will be even more tense then!  Up to 10 can play so its great for a big family or when you have friends over.

The winner is the first person to get rid of their whole deck of cards.  A couple of the cards are different.  You have arrows pointing inward, if you see one of these cards ALL players quickly go for the totem.  There is also an arrows pointing outward card when you see this all players need to flip their top card simultaneously.

When two players are playing you are meant to have 4 decks, you manage one in each hand.  In the picture you will notice we hadn’t set Jungle Speed up quite right!  I blame my Sunday go slow feeling, but we realized afterwards and corrected that.
