Week 42 of 2020: Walking in Wales
This week I have definitely been getting my steps in. I have had two lovely long walks with friends. One was a nice flat walk, that day I totalled 24k steps. The other walk was a bit of a hike in the mountains, it felt more of a workout but was well worth it for the views. Less steps overall with only 19k that day, but much more strenuous. Both times to celebrate all that walking I had a well-deserved treat afterwards.
Breakfast
The first walk my friend and I had a cooked breakfast afterwards. Naturally, my weekly update wouldn’t be complete without some food pictures to tempt you! Furthermore I felt I really needed all my energy back after so much walking.

Pancakes
The second treat with a separate friend we had pancakes! I had Nutella and banana.

It was nice to catch up with my friends before Wales potentially going into a strict two – three-week lockdown (if the rumours are true!). I don’t know how I feel about it. My main worry is the boys missing school again. However, if it manages to slow the spread then I guess its for the best. We are fortunate we have enough space if we are stuck indoors for another extended length of time.
Other than walking I haven’t been up to a huge amount else. I peeked in a few shops and admired the Christmas decorations that are now making their way onto the shelves. I thought this little sparkly bird was quite sweet and was very tempted to buy it!

Chores
Then it’s been housework, making plans for Christmas and a couple of blog posts went live, Sleep Styling and helping children maintain a healthy body. Also, I have been sent some board games to review. However, the weekend was a little heavy on homework so hopefully we can play catch up with reviewing soon. I sent out a response source this week so have lots of fantastic products to introduce to you in an upcoming Christmas gift guide feature. Plus I am still spending some time in the evenings working on SEO behind the scenes. I want to hang on to that two-point DA increase I mentioned in my week 40 update. My husband doesn’t mind as he is happy having some peace and quiet to focus on gaming.
Game Of Life

We played this classic game this week! It’s one of the few board games saved from my childhood.
Crystal Art

My youngest finally got started on his lion crystal art set. It’s been in the packet for almost 10 months since Christmas. So, it was high time he got cracking with it really. I was talking to friends about Christmas. They said about how many presents are still in the wrapper 12 months on and it made me more aware of what a waste it is not to make use of everything before next Christmas arrives! Do you have the same problem with presents still waiting to be used?

Wow, those are long walks. Definitely a good idea to have a tasty treat afterwards ! Ahhh we have the Game of Life too. It’s at my parents’ and it gets dragged out every time we visit ! lol
Oh yes, I think you certainly need a treat after all of that walking. The breakfast looks so good and the pancakes amazing!
Oh gosh! I’ve not played The Game of Life for years. I think we still have it upstairs somewhere. x
The pancakes look good!
Oh game of life…..I haven’t played that in a long time!
You definitely deserve the treats after those walks. I never owned Game of Life but loved playing it with friends, too many years ago now though! #366
Ah, we loved the Game of Life when we were children. We have the junior version and it’s a bit rubbish. Well done on all the walking. I don’t do much at all now I’m rarely going out. I just don’t really enjoy walking in the countryside – it’s all a bit samey, unless there’s a purpose walking to somewhere
The views look great, you definitely deserved a cooked breakfast! I have a diamond art picture which I am working my way through. So far I’m about 2/3rds done and I would like to get it finished before the end of the year! My eldest has a science kit he’s not touched yet but that’s it. I am being really careful with gifts this year too. As they have so much they really don’t need much more!
We have had presents like that in the past to be honest. Sometimes H has outgrown them so I’ve got them out when my nieces and nephews are around. What gorgeous views! Sounds like you earnt your breakfast.
After those lovely long walks, you definitely deserved that cooked breakfast! Haven’t played Game of Life in years – I used to love that one. I have a feeling we have it up in the loft – must have a look next time I’m up there. Glad that the crystal art set is finally being used. We have a few presents like that – mostly craft things but they’ve been mostly held back due to Sophie not quite being ready for them. #project366
I’ve got a lot of toiletries I’ve received as gifts I just can’t use up fast enough, however I love having them. The diamond dot looks lovely when finished, but very time consuming and tricky
OMG, I haven’t played the game of life for years – it was my favourite game growing up.I love long walks and am gutted that our visit to Wales for half term was cancelled
What a spectacular view over the hilly landscape! You totally deserve a treat after walking there. The breakfast looks good (is that a fried bread or a potato thingy on top?)
Pancakes are always welcome, though I prefer mine with honey or maple syrup.
I haven’t heard of Game of Life, will see if I can find it online.
I’ve wanted to do one of the diamond art kits but haven’t, maybe I’ll add to my Christmas list. We have lots of toys still in the box or have been opened and then tidied onto the shelf and not touched. #project366
Great job on the walks, I love hiking! The food looks amazing, especially the pancakes. Yeah I hope school closure is for the best. Cute sparkly bird. The board game looks so cool and it’s amazing that it’s in pristine condition after all these years. Cool lion crystal art
