Week 40 of 2020: Piglet’s Pantry
Another week and another afternoon tea! I am nothing but predictable. Some might say I am a little hooked on them (and they would be right!). Last week it was for the Grandparents Grand Outings campaign, whilst this week I decided to use up a voucher I had to order from Piglet’s Pantry.
With holiday plans a bit precarious at the moment, I decided to swap a Buyagift Hobbit Hole stay for afternoon tea delivered to my parents’ house instead. I had more credit left over so decided to do the same for my in laws in Southampton too. So, we all could enjoy afternoon tea on the same day even if we were apart! It’s nice to share the love after all! Travel is my most favourite thing usually but with all the restrictions I can temporarily add cake to the top of my list!
Piglet’s Pantry
The afternoon tea came from Piglet’s Pantry and was so good. I think it was the best scotch egg and quiche I have ever had. They were very tasty warmed up in the oven. I would definitely order from Piglet’s Pantry again, their carrot cake was very moist and flavoursome too. My mum has spotted they also do chocolate brownies so has hinted she would like to try them next time! Basically, any excuse I think for us to place another order. Mind you I never need much persuading.
Lunch With Friends
I caught up with two friends for lunch. The weather was pleasant, and we ate outside. Scampi in the sunshine was very welcome!
Walk In The Woods
If you go down in the woods today, you’re sure of a big surprise. This time instead of a pinecone fairy I found a bear with balloons!
I love seeing what will be there next. They definitely make it interesting because there is always something new to spot.
Cookies
My neighbour kindly returned one of our jigsaws with some homemade cookies! I really do have amazing neighbours – what a treat!
She mentioned that the next lockdown might not be far away. I don’t know how I feel about that. We don’t have anything planned anymore so I am not worried about missing anything at the moment. I just don’t feel ready for our world to close in again, especially as Wales seem to restrict movement much more than England.

To end the week on a high my buddy at Sim’s Life just messaged me to say my DA had gone up 2 points! I did a little happy dance. We have been both working so hard behind the scenes it feels like such a win when something finally goes right.
Well done on the DA increase – that’s always difficult to achieve. Looks like you have had quite a week for foodie treats.

The afternoon tea looks fab and lovely to organise for other family members. Our trip to Wales at the end of the month got cancelled last week and that’s me done. I can’t remember ever having a completely empty diary, strange and sad isn’t it. Well done on the DA, mine keeps dropping #366

We have been total Blog Monkeys recently!!!! My eyes are as wide as pies, I think I need to step away from the screen because I’m sure I spotted some pies at the top of the page… 😉 Well I kinda did! As much as I love a cake filled Afternoon Tea, I LOVE savoury afternoon tea’s! I’m Northern..!
It was really a lovely idea, especially to organise one for your in-laws too so you could all enjoy on the same day. Lockdown has seen us all turn to cake, you can never, EVER, have too much or feature too many images of cake. In fact, the more the better! 🙂
Big Potato games are ace, we are huge fans and am quite glad we have a good selection as I feel Christmas will be slightly more indoors than outdoors this year. I certainly won’t be able to enjoy an annual Xmas trip out for festive drinks and chatting up random men! The Northern lockdown seems like it is coming into play next week with pubs and restaurants most likely closing. Bit miffed it’s just before half term as it would have been nice to head for a meal or two out, but this year has not failed to throw doom and gloom our way. Let’s fast forward to 2021 and reap the rewards of a fresh year! Hope you have all had a lovely week! Sim x

Well done on the DA I am trying to work on mine but Moz seems to have forgotten I have existed for the last few weeks which does not bode well. The afternoon tea looks very yummy its not something I have down for ages. Need to correct that soon. Love that your neighbours made biscuits. I wish mine did that!
Afternoon tea is such a great idea, especially working it so that you can share one at the same time as other loved ones- a fabulous idea ! I may have to remember that for Christmas.
