I was debating whether to join in or not this week, as I don’t have as many pictures. But then I thought I don’t want to break the habit as it might be months before I rejoin otherwise. Plus, we had some good news with my son’s results this week!

GCSE’s

This week my eldest got his GCSE results we were delighted with his grades. He certainly did better than I ever did, and I was pleased enough with my GCSE’s at the time! But I was amazed by his. We are in Wales, so it isn’t from 9 to 1 but A* to G. His strengths were definitely Science (triple A*) and Maths (double A*). He is off to college to study science A-levels.

I can’t believe college starts so soon. The summer holiday had seemed to be going on forever, but this last bit is flying by! I guess we were all feeling a bit tense waiting on those GCSE’s, now he has those safely tucked under his belt we can finally relax.

Nanny and granddad sent him a lovely present with a box full of treats (pictured) to congratulate him on his GCSE’s. I am sure he will enjoy tucking into them. My mum and dad and my husband and I gave him some spends.

Blogging

I am still working on SEO, getting all posts green over on my husband’s blog. It’s quite labour intensive, as he was a bit slap dash with posting before. I have taken control of his blog now, so it has to follow a certain format. He doesn’t seem to mind as he is happier playing computer games in his downtime from work.

Barking Dog

I bought a little device to see if it would help my dog stop barking in the house. It was from Amazon and so far, I have only used it one time and its already made a big difference. We have found that it has been hard with the oldest dog as she has become quite reactive and barks at the smallest of things.

It can make me feel quite frazzled by the end of the day. Especially trying to work from home. It seems such a useful training device and £18.99 well spent! You just have to make sure you follow with a voice command; the idea is that the voice command will become enough then. She seems calmer and happier now.

(UPDATE: sadly, our dogs are still barking, after initially working, the dog trainer device has now stopped emitting the ultrasonic sounds! So I am taking away my earlier recommendation about it!)

Lovely Lunch

I had a lovely lunch out with friends. I think this might have been one of the nicest toasted sandwiches I have ever had (and I eat a lot of them!). It was cheese, red onion chutney and bacon, you can see it in the feature picture. I have been enjoying my weekly catch ups, although this week our chat was mainly about waiting on those GCSE’s.

Another Lunch Out

I also went out for lunch with my husband and eldest. I had the lasagne with the hasselback potatoes. These potatoes are fab, they are just sliced baby potatoes, with garlic butter and salt that are then roasted! It’s nice when you stumble upon a new way to do potatoes. My husband said he would start making them at home.
