Fathers Day Gift Guide & Competition

June the 19th is
getting closer so quickly plan ahead and find a thoughtful gift to thank the
dads in your life.

This type of gift is a firm favourite of my own dad;
he is a real ale drinker and enjoys unwinding with his nightly bottle. He is not a big drinker he just savours the
one bottle and makes it last. My dad
has a good sense of humour so I thought he would appreciate this personalised
set of three beers – Senior Moments from Getting Personal. Each bottle is the “magical cure” for some
of the problems you might find as your getting older! So embrace old age with a giggle and a good drink instead! So my dad now has his hair growth beer, his
anti-ageing beer (I think I need a sip of that!) and his brain beer – not bad
for £24.99 really, it will bring him laugher and restock his beers by three

If your dad is more of a whisky drinker I really
do like the Getting Personal personalised set of five 30ml bottles for
£34.99. It’s very attractively
presented and comes with tasting cards to educate yourself in the finer things
in life. I am sure my dad will
appreciate a little luxury if he fancies a night off his beer.

Practical Gifts

I know us ladies often grumble if we are given a
practical gift, but my hubbie enjoys his gadgets and the Vileda Windomatic (£49.99) is right up his street. He washed the windows recently and they looked very streaky afterwards, so when I showed him this product he was keen to try again. It’s not only my husband who is now impressed with this product, the Good Housekeeping Institute have also given it their stamp of approval. It’s quite lightweight and easy to use, suitable on all types of glass (so his beloved car will be having a bit of TLC I am sure) and is a quick and efficient way to keep glass clean and shiny.

The MAGIX Video Easy program helps you transform your video into something even more special. My husband has always struggled before to make videos standout, but this program has a whole host of effects to help you create a professional looking video the family will all cherish. Plenty of designs and templates all wrapped up in a very user friendly program.

For a beginner wanting to do more with videos but not knowing where exactly to start this program really helps make a difference. Let’s be honest men do like technology, they seem to be wired to understand it but as this program has so many helpful wizards I might even give video editing a try myself. Also at £29.99 its an affordable gift, you can try a 30 day trial too if you prefer to see if its something you would actually use regularly or not. With my blog I would love more sophisticated videos so hubbie will have his work cut out!

Cinema Tickets

My husband has got his heart set on watching the Warcraft: The Beginning release, I am sure lots of gaming dads will be the same, so this Fathers day why not give the gift of cinema! Don’t worry you can even get an e-gift if you think you have left it a bit late.

Depending on your budget you can splurge with an Unlimited Gift Box or get a more modest £25 gift card for your recipient. Either way a trip to the cinema is always a lovely treat.

My hubbie was in desperate need of new underpants so I thought it would be nice to be spoilt and have some Armani ones from Scotts for Father’s Day, you can notice the quality with proper brands like that, they are a good fit and very comfortable, they have also washed well (which is always a bonus!). They also have lots of t-shirts and sweatshirts available on their site so depending on budget and what clothes your dad would like best there is plenty to pick from.

Grooming Products

My husband was excited to see the Braun Series 3 and Braun Beard Trimmer arrive, he varies between having a smooth face to deciding to grow beards (when we are watching Vikings usually) or having a bit of designer stubble. I think he likes having the choice and these products make it possible for him to have his own unique style with minimum fuss.

The Braun Series 3 now has MicroComb technology making it a much faster shave as it can tackle long and short hair at the same time, ideal if your in a hurry to get to work in the morning or have the kids grumbling to use the bathroom. Even though its very efficient it is still gentle on the skin.

The Beard Trimmer has a precision dial so you can get the cut you want just right every-time. My husband thinks sometimes the hardest part of growing a beard is training it to look good, as in the beginning the hairs might be all different sizes, but the beard trimmer can cope with the challenge!

Baylis & Harding have a good selection of gifts for Father’s Day all of which are very reasonably priced and look fantastic. The Camper Van Wash bag is my favourite, I reviewed the flamingo version already but the blue version is ideal for Father’s Day.

The Citrus Lime & Mint is a very fresh fragrance, the perfect start to your day, if you want to feel energised and ready for anything.

The football themed wash bags will be popular with the most sporty of dads, but even those that prefer watching sports to playing will appreciate the masculine scents of the luxurious toiletries. Pop into Tesco and treat your dad.

I have a little competition to win a Baylis & Harding Camper Van Wash Bag (filled with Citrus Lime & Mint toiletries) and a MAGIX Video Easy program, to enter please fill out the form below the competition will close on the 3rd of July.
