For me comfort and warmth are my biggest priorities. I love throws and blankets on each sofa and candles dotted on every surface. The gifts I have chosen here probably reflect my age as I near 40 I have different concerns compared to my younger self. The NHS are big about keeping warm to keep well so I guess I am following their advice. I do like to make the home inviting.  I think its important that its somewhere our children like to spend time. So I have compiled a list of five Christmas gifts for the home.

Electric Blanket

These are great as there is nothing worse than sinking into a cold bed, I really feel the cold so owning one of these is a real indulgence. A electric blanket can be very therapeutic, it can help with aches and pains, heat can give relief to a wide range of complaints! So why not spoil someone this Christmas and pick out the latest model, apparently, they are much safer these days too. Although I would turn them off before going to sleep. If your still not convinced maybe try a hot water bottle.

Throws

Aim for cotton, wool or fleecy fibres which maintain body heat. I was gifted a really warm throw from TJ Hughes. Alternatively you can buy electric heated throws to use whilst you watch TV. They work out as a cheaper option if you have a habit of leaving the heating on for the whole house late into the evening (yes that would be me!).

Tea Cosy

Dexam have lots of tea cosies in pretty coloured fabrics and vintage designs. Atea cosy doesn’t cost too much around £7 to £12, so why not add a teapot, some fancy teabags and a fruit cake and make a lovely gift for someone special in the family.

Rugs

Draught Excluders

Sounds very practical and perhaps a little boring as far as Christmas gifts go. But you can find so many adorable designs that they enhance the décor of the room whilst keeping the heat in!  Ulster Weavers Ltd. is a good starting point, I love their Dotty Sheep Draught Excluders (£20), its nice and bright and the sheep look interesting with the different patterned coats.
