The summer holidays are here!  Fortunately, on day one a lovely chocolate hamper arrived from Virginia Hayward which took the edge off slightly!  Chocolate always makes me feel happy and this lovely selection had a bit of everything.  Just check out the incredible cake and the Belgian chocolate sauce!  Such an indulgent treat.  It might have to be devoured under the cover of darkness, so I don’t need to share.  Although there is plenty included to go around if I decide to feel kind.

Chocolate is proven to calm you and make you feel more content!  So it’s my go to reward to survive the summer holidays.  My eldest has hit the tweens with a vengeance and I need chocolate to keep me sane.  He is much moodier and hormonal lately!  Give me strength or better yet chocolate ideally!!!

Furthermore Tryptophan in chocolate helps with the release of serotonin which lifts our moods.  Yesterday was a trying day in one of his sulks he decided to refuse breakfast and go on a hunger strike.  Luckily it was short lived and an hour later he was at the table eating breakfast!
