We were sent Carnival Games (RRP £34.99) on the Nintendo Switch to review, which was released in November. The switch was their Christmas present so they do not have many games so far. It really cheered up my eldest as he has been off school the last few days with a high fever! He did not have much energy for anything. But this game seemed to capture his attention even with him feeling unwell.
He said it was a really entertaining game with lots of fun challenges!
Up to four can play so it is a good game to bring the whole family together! It is the kind of game I enjoy joining in. With so much variety, I am usually good at one of the mini-games! There are twenty included in total. It does not take long to get the hang of gameplay. Rated for children 3+, each game is quite short, so perfect for the attention span of little ones. Although I found my 11 year old, nine year old and 37-year-old husband all completely hooked. Therefore, it does have wide appeal!
My boys are avid gamers but usually it is more violent shooting type games and if I am honest, I would rather see them play something like this instead. You can win tickets to customise your character after you have unlocked all your games, which adds to the lasting appeal. Carnival style games make me feel nostalgic, Roll-R-Derby is a firm favourite. All in all this is a feel good game that brings out the best in everyone! Yes, we sometimes get a little competitive! However, that adds to the excitement!
I would recommend you pick up a copy for the half term! If you have played Carnival Games before on the Wii this new edition has plenty more to offer. You can pick it up in the following formats Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
