I have wanted to cut back on the plastic I use for a while now.  We had started to finish what we currently had and commenced the process to look for more eco-friendly alternatives.  I was thrilled to be introduced to Bee Green Wraps.  Beeswax wraps are something I have been meaning to try for awhile.

One of the things I felt awful about was our reliance on disposable sandwich bags.  It seemed so wasteful throwing them away knowing what damage they would be doing to the environment.

Priced at £25.49 for a family pack you get four different sized beeswax wraps, small, medium, large and extra-large.  These beautiful wraps last up to a year, so you get a lot of mileage out of your purchase.  I feel much happier too as I know I am finally doing my bit to help the environment.  Lots of us have good intentions but how many of us have started putting those ideas into action.

Bee Green Wraps are completely bio-degradable!  When it is finally time to dispose of them you just add them to your composter.  My eldest son alone would use 190 sandwich bags in a school year for his butties.  Then he would have another one or two each day holding fruit or vegetable sticks.  The total goes up to 570 throwaway sandwich bags!  That’s before you add in my packed lunches and the occasional ones my husband and youngest son have.

These fabulous wraps are a sustainable option for our planet.  We need to start making changes now before we damage the world beyond repair.  It’s such a wonderful feeling being greener.  Plus, it has a side benefit of less waste in our bins!  Our waste bins are only emptied every three weeks, so space is a premium in them!  Naturally I recycle where I can, but our council only takes plastic bottles not sandwich bags sadly.  So, for us Bee Green Wraps is the perfect alternative.

Natural and organic

I also prefer using beeswax food wraps because they are 100% natural and organic.  They are made from beeswax with organic jojoba oil, tree resin & cotton.  So you don’t have to worry about chemicals leaching into your child’s food.  Plastics get a fair bit of bad press about the harmful effects on our health.  So, making the move to Bee Green Wraps can be so much more than just helping the environment too!
