Why You Should Choose A Ducted Air Conditioning System
I have written a general post before about five benefits of air conditioning in your home. Now I am going to be more specific and focus on what type of air conditioning system I would prefer. Typically, you have two options a ducted air conditioning system or a split system. But if I was to have it fitted in my home I would go for a ducted system. Read on to see why.
Noise
A ducted air conditioning system is less noisy. This is because the placement of the equipment is in the ceiling or roof space. We have stayed in a hotel before with a split system and we had to turn the air conditioning off at night to be able to sleep. Even Airflow
With ducted air conditioning systems, you have an even airflow across the whole house. This is something individual wall mounted units could not achieve. You might worry that you cannot change the temperature from room to room. Whilst this used to be the case you can zone areas. This is worthwhile doing if the people you live with are comfortable at different temperatures. It also saves money in the long run as you don’t have to cool all the rooms only the ones you are using.
Maintenance
As a ducted system covers a whole house with a series of ducts and vents only relying on one main cooling unit there is generally less to maintain. With a split system you would have air conditioning units in lots of rooms, each one will need to be checked. So, although you have a more expensive initial investment with ducted air conditioning it is generally cheaper afterwards.
Aesthetics
A ducted air conditioning system is more discrete than wall mounted systems. Only the controller and vent tend to be on show. This does give more flexibility when decorating your home. Bulky split system air conditioning can ruin the aesthetics of your rooms.
