Getting Behind Tommy’s 2019 Splashathon

AD – Tommy’s is hoping to raise £1 million with this year’s Splashathon to help fund life-saving research.  It’s so sad that 1 in 4 women lose a baby in pregnancy or birth.  We were fortunate with my youngest it was thanks to the skill of my midwife that he is with us today.  He arrived in the world with the umbilical cord wrapped twice tightly around his neck.  Thanks to her quick action she was able to help him in time.  She didn’t panic me she just quickly got her fingers in there to loosen the cord so he could breathe.  He didn’t come out making a noise, so my husband knew something was wrong.  I was too dazed from the delivery to fully understand what was going on!

Tommy’s is a great charity to get behind and support as they help save so many babies lives.  The money raised will go towards the new Tommy’s research centre.  The National Centre for Improving Maternity Care prides itself in improving maternity care so more lives will be saved.

Make a Donation

You can join in with the campaign by donating to the their Splashathon 2019 fundraising page.  Dig deep it’s a fantastic cause.

“Let’s help save babies’ lives. Make a splash, donate some cash!”

Also, by doing your bit raising money you have a chance of getting a reward, which is rather nice of them.  Raising £1 your child will have a Splashathon certificate.  Whilst £30 will see them rewarded with a certificate and a special sew-on Peppa Pig swimming badge.  If you manage to raise £100 they also get an exclusive Peppa Pig book on top!  But if you can raise £200+ you get all the above plus a limited edition Splashathon tote bag and goodies.  Plenty of incentive there to keep raising lots of money, the more the merrier!  Just make sure all your money is with Tommy’s by the 12 July 2019 if you want to unlock these fundraising rewards.

You will also entered into a fantastic competition to win a family ticket to Peppa Pig World and overnight accommodation!  My two loved Peppa Pig World when they were little.  So that will be a wonderful treat for someone.

This year’s theme is Peppa Pig Pirate and Princess, which will appeal to lots of little ones.  They can dress up for the event, even if it’s just a plastic eye patch or a tiara!  If you are keen to join in just check with your local Water Babies class.  The fundraising classes will be happening nationwide.  Plus there will be challenges like encouraging the children to swim a width.

My kids are a bit bigger, but we had our own Splashathon in the paddling pool.  Just to get behind the campaign!
