Jumanji The Video Game Review
#AdGifted I was sent an amazing package to celebrate the release of Jumanji The Video Game from my friends at Outright Games.
My youngest son did a little unboxing video for you to watch, see below!
This weekend both my boys couldn’t wait to see what it was about. They said it was an entertaining and fun game, very fast paced. Lots of fist fights and gun battles, they played on medium difficulty and had waves of enemies coming! It really is a spirited fight to get to the end of the level.
It was action packed from the moment they loaded the game till they signed off for the night. It’s great finding a game that this age group enjoy, my boys are 10 and 12. In all honestly, I didn’t have a clue what computer games to get them for Christmas, without venturing outside their age range which I don’t really like to do. But this game is perfect for tweens.
Watch out for traps
The environment was challenging, lots of obstacles to navigate round like saws, fire and spikes in the floor. You also have wild animals trying to attack you, my youngest was chased by a bear! You can choose to play on easy, medium or hard mode. It’s a collaborative game up to four players. If a teammate runs out of lives you can share one of yours with them!
The next day they wanted to play Jumanji The Video Game again ignoring the games they usually favour which is a sign that it’s a good title for them! They want to keep unlocking abilities and trying out the different characters. You have Dr. Smolder Bravestone renowned archaeologist and explorer, Ruby Roundhouse martial arts and dance fighter, Franklin Mouse Finbar Zoology expert and weapons valet and Prof. Shelley Oberon cartographer and curvy genius. My youngest was surprised he thought Dr. Bravestone would be his favourite but he prefers Prof. Shelley as he likes his weapon the catapult blaster best.
Furthermore all the characters have incredible special abilities you can use on cooldown. Ruby can make the enemies dance which is quite comical. Mouse can summon a monkey that attacks the enemies! Dr. Bravestone can do the ground pound which my youngest though was cool! So, they all do have a lot to offer with interesting novel abilities.
