#ADGifted One of the hardest parts of preparing for Christmas is finding the perfect fillers for the boys’ stockings!  If I am being completely honest it really stresses me out.  I spend forever racking my brain trying to come up with suitable ideas.  Let’s be honest the Christmas stocking is what kicks off the festivities, so you want it to be well received.  Fortunately, Rubik’s came to the rescue.  They sent me a lovely selection of products to showcase the Rubik’s product range.  Who knew it was so expansive!

Rubik’s A Favoured Stocking Filler

A survey found that a third of parents would pick a Rubik’s cube as a stocking filler.  I think this is a fantastic idea especially as the range includes so many innovative Rubik toys now.  Even if they already have the classic cube you can squeeze a different choice into their Christmas stocking.

My personal favourites are Rubik’s Match (RRP £4.99) and Rubik’s Edge (RRP £9.99).  Both will keep the kids occupied for a while first thing, meaning you don’t have to dive into the main presents too early!  Both the 2 x 2 cube and the 3 x 3 cube (RRP £12.99) fit in too, so you don’t just have to fill the stocking with sweets or chocolate.  By exploring the Rubik’s product route, it opens up lots more stocking filler possibilities.

Exciting New Shapes

My eldest was particularly impressed with Rubik’s Orbit (RRP £14.99).  It’s nice having a new novel shape to solve.  Each of the Rubik’s puzzles is a good mental workout for kids.  All the puzzles are very engaging, children can spend ages trying different combinations trying to work out how to solve each puzzle.  Furthermore Rubik’s really is the puzzle of all puzzles.

I like that each of these puzzles don’t need a long list of instructions to get started.  Children can just open the packaging and start trying to figure it out straight away through trial and error.  Puzzles like this also encourage children to stick with something, to be determined to finish the puzzle.  There are so many advantages of Rubik’s products I think I would need a separate blog post just to list them all!  But in brief think hand eye coordination, building observational skills and learning to focus the mind are a few more of the benefits.  I think this probably explains why its such a popular choice for parents at Christmas.

We didn’t get sent the Rubik’s Block (RRP £14.99) that looks very interesting.  The different sized blocks bringing an exciting slant to the traditional puzzle and more challenges!  In our house we already have the classic cube and Rubik’s Race (RRP £19.99), so we are already Rubik’s fans that’s for sure.  But I am so pleased we have been introduced to more of their products.
